Crew Roster

Hi. I'm applying for cabin crew now as I'm not enjoying uni as much as I thought and well, its an industry I love. I was wondering if any CC would be willing to send me a copy of their roster just so I can get an idea about them. Any help would be great

Those were great thanks. The first domestic rota looked very busy for, and long haul crew well, plenty of time off. That was just what I was looking for, many thanks.

Any easyjet or BD staff, pref EDI based

The 5/4 rotation system is pretty good but they make us work extremely much! Perhaps a little bit too much...

Hi AMS,
Yes, you guessed it, standbys are BORING! You report at Compass and wait....and wait....and wait. Fortunately there are things you can do...meet up & chat with your colleagues (after a while you'll start bumping into familiar faces more & more), chill out at the cafe (or 'singles bar'...whatever!), have some grub in the canteen, read gossip mags & horoscopes, watch TV in the TV room, sleep in the quiet room, bring a DVD player.....whatever.

There's no getting away from the fact that it is not really a very enjoyable experience. Hopefully you'll not have more than 1 a month.

By the way, I'd just like to point out the fact that although the above BA shorthaul roster looks busy, it is NOT! There are nightstops included if you look carefully....apart from that, BA shorthaul is just about the easiest flying available at the moment....I worked for a low-cost airline and believe me, BA is a walk in the park (at the moment, and only at LHR!)

Are BA rosters published in local as I noticed the above said local on it. I thought all rosters were published in Z.

Well hopefully, you will get a rounded view with mine, I work for a charter airline doing LH and short haul.

1. Day off
2. Day off
3. LGW-CUN
4. Hotel Cancun
5. Hotel Cancun
6. CUN-LGW
7. Land back LGW
8. Day off
9. Day off
10. LGW-CTA-LGW
11. Day Off
12. LGW-MBJ
13. Hotel MBJ
14. MBJ-MAN
15 Land back MAN, Hotel MAN (position home BA) off duty 1900
16. Day off
17. Day off
18.CT- contactable- similar to standby but 18hours notice must be given
19.CT
20. Day off
21. LGW-SSH-LGW
22.LGW-AGP-LGW
23.LGW-RHO-LGW
24. Day off
25. Day off
26. Day off
27. CT
28. CT
29. LGW-SFB (postion MIA)
30. MIA (position to CUN- on AA)
01. Hotel CUN
02. CUN-DSA
03. Land back DSA. Hotel in DSA then position home off duty 2000.
04. Day off
05. Day off

We dont normally have as many CT on our roster, and we do sometimes do Standby's but not often. I've highlighted the days off at home and while away so you get a good idea of how hard we work, and if you dont live near a big airport, whether commuting is possible for you. Depending on the charter airline you apply for will depend on how much long haul you do, not all airlines give you long haul straight away, so you will be working more. as a maximum with Thomsonfly you will only work 16days a month if you do all short haul- cant say i've ever done that but i've always been based at a long haul base. hope this helps.

if you are getting fed up of UNI my advice is carry on with your course, and if you still want to give flying a go, go for it, but dont give it all up with nothing to show, what if you hate flying? at least you'll have something to back you up at a later date.

Hi

Trained on all short-haul Airbus variants (A319,320,321), 757 & 767.

Occasionally you may be asked to operate on our long-haul 767s which are configured with Club World, World Traveller Plus/Traveller...you won't be given a differences course, you'll just have to stumble your way around...mind you, on a 9-hour flight you'll have time to learn!

Hi, I have just joined PPRuNe but have been visiting for a while as have been accepted for EF at BA but am in the same situation as a lot of others as am still waiting for a start date.

It would be great to get a better idea of EF rosters and how they compare to bidding/requests so if anyone else has a recent roster they don't mind posting that would be really helpful!!

Also, a couple of roster related questions....!

1. If you have a single day of standby can you only be called for a trip that day or can they cancel out the following days rostered trip by calling you out for a 2/3day trip?

2. If you are delayed inbound and are due to be crewing another flight out of LHR that day to nightstop do you get taken off the remainder of your trip or is your next flight delayed to wait for the crew?

3. Do crew usually get called fr trips trips for available days and if there is a block of 2/3 days is this likely to be a 2/3 ay trip...am I right in thinking this is 24 hours notice?

Thanks to anyone who can help, I have flown before for VS but trying to get a better idea of roster stability etc for SH at BA.

I'm so surprised when I see these rosters, try middle east and you'll be happy if you have 8 days off every month!
