Sara, you have the responsibility to ensure that all your referees respond to the reference requests from easyJet. It will be up to you to keep chasing them (i.e. YOU phone them or YOU email them telling them to pull their fingers out and respond to the reference requests from easyJet).

If you do not ensure that your referees have responded within a certain period of time, easyJet reserves the right to terminate your contract. Therefore, you must make every effort YOURSELF to make sure that your referees respond in a timely manner.

I would suggest that you contact easyJet's recruitment department as you do seem to be very unsure of what is expected of you. You will be spending a lot of money on your airfare over to the UK and you don't want this to go to waste, so contact easyJet recruitment and tell them everything about your referees and employment history now and ask them if their is likely to be any problems.

Remember though, easyJet is regarded as a 'self help airline' so you have to do everything you can to ensure that you are able to obtain your airside pass ASAP - failure on your side can result in termination of contract.

Sara - what jobs/dates etc did you put down on your original application? I'd presume these would be fairly accurate?
I've called up my employers from the past few years and they've all sent things to me.

Point to note re. Australian Taxation Office - unless the companies name was lodged on your tax return, they don't keep those records on your return (they take what you lodge as truthful, until proven otherwise) so, whilst you can rely on the ATO to send you proof of payment (your notice of assessment) they cannot show you who you worked for.

But, when you applied, EasyJet told you you needed all of this info anyway?
I'd move on it fast, start calling the temp companies, they keep records, by law, I believe, up to 5 years.

ok guys i understand that i have to do all the following up! that was not the question. my question was do easy jet send my refferees out a questionair about me, or do they call them??? im guessing by me following up all this, that they do send out papers to fill out. is that correct???

now i have contacted all the previous employers that i can and they are sending me out stuff advising the start and end dates and if easyjet have any quires to please contact them... im just waiting on a responce from one more employer. the temp agency... so this is fine.

by the way coz im in australia ill get all this information from the referees sent out to easy jet prior to the time i leave... i need 3 months to pack my stuff and send it and easyjet know this... is this ok?

HI i passed my training in oct , im still waiting for my id, i had problems with ref's not turning up when i had been promised they had been posted.

If i was to do my ref's all over again i would suggest to anyone contact your refferee's and send them the fee to send your ref letters recorded or registered post , i had 3 ref's go missing & i am a 100% they were posted.

Chase id dept everyday, when you know they should be getting a ref for you delivered .

You can also have the referance form emailed to whoever (but this must be sighned dated and posted back,

im in the uk and still had problems.

ps, ask id dept to confirm to you that your full 5 year history is covered.
good luck

Hi...
Ezy will not accept any proof of employment that you have handled. In other words, you must supply the I.D Dept with names and addresses of employers and they send out the official paperwork. You can only chase your ref's, you cant play any other part. I was waiting on one of mine and suggested that I would go to the place it had been sent too, and pick it up. I was told that if I did, that reference would be deemed not acceptable.

So, in short if you are asking your ex employers to send this proof to you, so that you can ammend dates and stuff, great. If it is for any other reason I would not bother as it wont be accepted. On the up side, at least you will have current names and contact numbers, having done your homework!!

Hope I have not confused ya!

Post HI all

I called today easyjet and they informed me that my training is starting on the 5th of december which is in two weeks. Now I do have few problems but mainly thats such a short time to finish certain things they are asking and especially moving from one town to another in such a short time.
Can anyone tell me during our training period do we stay all the time in the hotel or on the weekend we need to find a place of our own? Do we need to think for the food during Monday-Friday? And do we need to go home on Friday night or what?

I am really freaked out as its just so soon, I should be very very happy about it but just I am so shocked that I really dont know what to do?

Anyone else starting on the 5th of december and anyone with the same problem I have?

Thanks guys!

Hi HighFlyerSara,

What you nead hun is find out the person who is now responsable for the ref's in the jobs you know your contacts have moved on,
if you have worked for a relative in the last 5 years get there accountant or payroll details too. dont leave any gaps more than 14 days ok.

If the companys no longer operating contact id and ask them what they require from you.

If you have gap's to fill you can only use the same person twice as long as they are covering the same year .

Hope this helps loopy

Question Hallo there to everyone!

Hi, I am new here! Thanks for all your info, thats great!
I have decided to try to go to Easyjet, so filling the application now - not sure what to fill in as address in references - my collegue whom I want to be my referee is not working for the company any more - should I put in his personal address? Are they going to post him some forms? (I know, I know, long way there)

And a few more questions:
What is the salary as a probationary cabin crew and cabin crew?
Do you get salary during the training?
Do you have to pay the training?

Thanks for now!

Hey TightSlot,

While I can understand your frustration at the continual inclusion of quotes in posts, could you possibly not edit out the whole post with "See Replying with quotes thread".

Because there may be information relevent to this topic that some of us are interested in.

Thanks

A320.

Sorry, but no - we've tried asking, suggesting and pleading with no response. If Loopy (and others) continue to post with quotes, then we will continue to delete.

Te simple answer is for posts to be made properly. Hopefully, she'll read this and do so, then the problem will be solved!

No, that's not the case, and if you bothered to read the forum thread (all you have to do is click on the link kindly supplied in my post above, since actually reading the post at the top of the forum without prompting appears to be too much to ask) you would see that.

Clearly there are occasions when quoting is appropriate - most of the time it isn't.

Now, HFSara, take 2 minutes to read th link in my post above. Then think about what is written before you post on this subject again - it isn't rocket science
