SBE or SBL are home short standby's. Airport standby duties would be coded as ASW1 or ASW2.
SBE or SBL can be changed on the day to a long standby if crewing need you to do a longer one, so don't go considering them to be a day off. Also, crewing could phone you at say 07:10 (on the SBE) and call you out for a flight at 11:00 (which is after the standby would have ended) providing that you are legal to do so.

Hey...
Thanks for that. Yes, I get the way the standby stuff works. Was just not sure whether it was a crew room thing or on a home basis.
Does their seem to be a lot of standby shifts at the mo?
Bad for Sector Pay I guess..

Assessment/advice
Hello!
I was on the assessment day held on 6th December in Milan (Italy)... but I have received no replies so far... neither emails nor phone calls... What do you think? Should I contact them? Or should I give up??
Thanks a lot for your tips Riccardo

interview
hey guys,
i had my interview!!! NO PA ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!!
hey i did really well i think... i aced everything got thru to the final but when they were doing the house keeping they asked me if i have ever been fired and i had to say yes... because i was for the temping job whcih was only for 3 months and i left 2.5 months into it. the reason was that the managers did not get along with me and that i wasn't performing the calls to their standard. but i said to them that in my new job have been promoted in optus (phone company) and always on top of work and commitments...
at the begining they asked us to stand up and say somthing about easy jet. i said my name and said "at the end of 2003 you guys employed 2330 ppl" they said thats excellent... (real emphasis) everyone else was just saying general stuff. so yeah i passed.... told them in the interview that i work thru my lunch break to help customers etc... all this is true told them i was flexible to change and time frames and what my managers have said about me, told them that i even joined this forum and that i have a folder full of research. i even told them i was suprised that they were'nt doing the PA announcement as i had rehersed.... but im just REALLY REALLY worried about how i had to say i got fired, which was like 2 years ago and now i have a promotion!!!. can that possibly jepordise my chance... i told them that i felt bad saying it but she said that its better you saying it now, then us finding out...
can you guys give me some light on the situation.
thanks heaps

Hey!
Well done.... Sounds like you did do really well. At my interview they said that they we looking for 'Real people, with real personalities' From that I would guess that they are open minded when it comes to individuel circumstances. In any job there are people you like working with, and then the ones you would rather not be associated with.
I also got the impression that that research is very important to them too. So it sounds like all in all you did really well. The painfull bit starts now, whilst you are waiting to hear!!
Have a Fantastic Christmas, and let us know how you got on....

Stick to U.k Time / Days
And today it was the first day of normal working hours ,
I hope it's a happy New Year for you
And if you get Easyjet take it and if you decide orange is
not your colour you can always apply to another Airline . But it will be great for you to get your foot in the Door also you will get the New Easyjet Uniform , Please don't go and buy another Airline ticket for an Interview unless your very wealthy and can afford it !!
And you do know if you apply to Virgin Blue you can get a transfer to Virgin Atlantic , That's another option .

Please Don't email them ...
They will call before New Year , I don't think they want you to start the new year playing the waiting game and most Airlines I have worked for it takes 1 week to 2 weeks for that Email / Call and everything is still on christmas time here (slow) !!
All The Best

Then you will have to make a decision about what you want to do for yourself. Bearing in mind that the UK has had two public holidays this week, they might be running behind schedule.
You now have to make a decision yourself (which only YOU can make) as to whether you want to spend money on purchasing a new airfare for the Qantas job or not.
You have mentioned previously that you had to say during the one on one interview that you were previously fired from a job, and that you are worried as to whether that might stop easyJet from employing you. You are now considering putting all of your eggs in the big orange basket and not going to the Qantas interview.
Personally, I would attend the Qantas interview because you now have an IDEA about airline recruitment interviews, so you could potentially ace the assessment day/interview with Qantas.
Put it this way, if easyJet don't recruit you and you have snubbed the Qantas interview, will Qantas want to then invite you to attend another interview in the future?

Welcome to the country of your Great-Grandmothers birth.
Perhaps you would like to by-pass the usual tour of London
that your ex-crim kin seem to take for granted and proceed
directly to go.
Just kidding, welcome home and enjoy all your time with EZY.
Hope to see you online soon.

Are you mad?
I have flown for a few airlines, and Easy was AWFUL.
I walked out after 6 months. Minimum rest, cleaning the aircraft (including a lot of sick!), ALWAYS superfast turnaround. I went out of hours (over legal maximum flying per day) about once every work rota (6 on, 3 off). No nightstops (the fun bit) and no airline concessions (Easyjet only)...
Of the 20 people on my ab initio course, only 2 remain a year later.. thats why they are always recruiting... take the hint! There are airlines out there that treat their staff better.
Best of luck if you want to fly. With the right airline and right routes it blummin hard work but great fun.
