Probation period is 6 months from the day you start training.
I'd say about £200 of it is comission. Comission is 10% of everything you sell on-board divided by the 4 crew members. So if you take £1000 over a busy 4 sector day you will take home £25 in comission assuming there are no discrepencies in you bar work and cash banking. Which is why you NEVER take food from the bar unless you have paid for it. The airline is really cracking down on Crew who eat from the bar without payment.
We get given pleanty of crew food, there is no reason to steal snacks.
But it does depend on where you are based. At LGW where we are all flying to the maximum of 900 hours, our SCCM's earn up to and over £300 more per month than Cabin Crew.

For easyLand just walk out of the terminal and you'll see it - big orange building beside the short term car park.

For the Academy (assesment days/training/etc) just hop on a long term car park bus (pink signs) and ask the driver to drop you off outside the Academy. To drive, turn up the hill at the roundabout outside the Holiday Inn following the signs for Car Hire. Follow the road past the fuel depot and the Alpha warehouse and turn right at the next roundabout. Turn left before the Flying Club and the Academy is straight on to the left.

Hey All
Just thought I would say Hi and say a little about my first week of training.
Now, firstly, the Ibis is not all that bad. I have read some pretty poor reports, but all in all its ok. The new rooms are slightly bigger and have Plasma tellys which makes studying and watching 'X Factor' at the same time even easier! Food wise it will cost you about £8 for a meal at the hotel, large portions but food is cheaper else where. The local pub is next to Asda and serves the 'Two Meals for £6.95' deal. To be honest it's good food and plenty of choice too. Most of the other trainees just snacked on Pot Noodles and stuff during lunch breaks. The training itself is presented in quite a laid back way. There is a lot to take on board, but so long as you do your reading homework properly it really is not rocket science.
The first exam is the 'Generic', all exams are mulitple choice and have an initial pass rate of 90%. In the first exam however there are a few commands to learn word for word. Again a couple of hours writing them out, and you get the hang of things. Punctuality is a big thing and being a second late (the screen counts all breaks down in 00:00 format) will loose you points. In a nutshell, you start with 9, and must have 1 left to graduate. Again nothing to worry about just appriciate that time is money for a opeator like this. I have really enjoyed the first bit, so good luck to anyone that is soon to start, by the way I will be the one in my new orange uniform come Wednesday!!
Ps If you are a lad and that way inclined, the female Totty is FFFantastic!!

Hi. I reqognise everything you said about your first week at training. I was there in June but I didnt get one of the new rooms . I got the room in the middle off all drilling and noiseuhoh: . Anyway. Just a tipp is to really work hard to get all your refs. Fast. At my base two people are now fired just because they didnt get all the refs in time. When you get your temp id (if you can where you are based) you have 60 days and when those 60 days are over you must have your full id. Otherwise your in trouble. Dont want to scare you but its pretty waste off time and money if you do training, working for 60 days and then have to leave. Good luck everyone!!

Talking 8th Nov

Hi all. I've got my assessment on 8th Nov. Yay!! Can anyone tell me what sort of questions they ask Direct Entry Seniors, or are you all interviewed the same (once you get to the 2-2-1) and is anyone else going on that day? Gonna travel up the night before as I've got to come from BRS, so if anyone else is, we could meet up.

Rach06, hope to see you soon hun & glad you're enjoying it

hi guys, im new here and looking to apply for easyjet with the closest base being luton but i hear gatwick is better..

i currently work on a certain airport rail link between london vic and lgw, some of u may know what i mean or even know me, im always chatting to the cc travelling with me!

i just want to ask ur opinions where to apply to, obviously i lose my free rail travel if i go to cc, and also i would pay £14 (£14.90 in jan) or the discounted fare.. i earn £18000 a year in the railway including free travel.

just asking what are the pay benefits of lgw base and will i be in a loss if i apply for cc.

i hope that makes sense, and hello to all those who travel on my trains to work.

phil

Question How Long?

Does anyone know how long you need to wait until they let you know did you get the job or not?
I had my assesment day on the 10th of November but still havent heard anything from them.

Should I worry?

mr goodluck: EZ is usually pretty fast, it took two weeks for me. That is very good for the airline industry.

flying phil: The salary at EZ is around £18500 and you get staff travel, which is unlimited flights anywhere on the network for around £31 (return) for you and three friends, available from the day you start. I would much rather take a plane to Greece, than a train to Newcastle for a holiday. No offence to people from Newcastle, I just chose a random City.

HiFlyer: I'm Aussie too. Don't stress about the visa. if you can bring along a copy of your application, or birth certificates of your parents. My assesment day was 5th May, and i flew out on 8th July. They are usually pretty flexible with start dates.
If you are italian, you might want to consider the Milan base. They are desperate for crew. I just came back from doing a week there. The flights are really quiet. ie: pleanty of time to read your book... he he he...
LGW and LTN are very busy bases, and if you live near the airport, then be prepared to be very bored. Gatwick and Luton areas are pretty boring!
Good luck at the interview! Be Yourself!
