Excel - Military contract
Could any of you please clarify the reason why the service to Brit Mil personnel by Excel is so poor? The aircraft serviceability rate and timeliness is appalling and I hesitate to suggest that if it was your partners that only had one week off in 4 months to return home then the company may provide a better service.
Can any cabin crew shed any light on why the service is so poor, there is a similar thread in the Military Forum, but my guys work hard, are regularly in danger and spending more time travelling than being with family is a real kick in the teeth.
PM me if you can shed any light please.

Thanks from a crew member.
Sorry for treating our boys so badly on flights that you obviously look forward too, to get you back to Blittey.
What can I say, don't take it personally, Excel treat all there passengers that way!!
let me explain how Excel works. They sell seats on aircraft at rock bottom prices making virtually no money at that stage. Then once everyone is on board the hard sell starts, (think captive audience) the cabin crew are pushed by management to sell as much as they can, tempted by the bonus for hitting targets. (I'll let you and all the crew in the country into a little secret, the target is just the classic carrot on a stick, it keeps moving in front of the poor old donkey untill he collapses with exhaustion, the owner (management) then buy another donkey. (fresh innocent 18 year olds who dream of being crew.)
As for the military flights, not much made on the bar, so management aren't interested in you boys. Service, customer care? Try a far eastern airline. Our management is driven by their bonus not the ethics of how we should be treating the lads who put their life on the line in order that they can sit in their Ivory Towers, earning their bonus in a free world.
Does that answer your question.

The service well may be poor because of the services already rendered to the heroic boys at the front by eager young and loose hosties. Then they discover that the squaddie is actually married, is a lying tw%t has never touched a gun since basic, just a store inventory, and he is on his way back to the partner mentioned earlier.Hence lack of interest to squaddies in general. At least the partner will get the same desease as the hostie. The wars may have changedbut the behaviour hasnt.Ever thought the MOD may be paying rock bottom because its THEM that dont give a sh1t.
Lead sparrow, get a grip, thats the charter bussiness your describing not a business plan exclusive to XL

Lead Sparrow, thanks for the honest reply. I totally understand but where is the professional pride? As for thrust u can trust, I take it you are one of the aforementioned un chivalrous lying Tw*ts that you claim the british squaddie to be. Your post is demeaning and should be mediated

The MOD, as far as I am aware got a good deal from XL - the deal also includes the 747 flight to ASI and MPN.
These flights run to a usually good schedule - although delays have occurred, both partieshave been to blame sometimes :
Tech aircraft, late delivery of cargo, MOD employees damamging the 747 in MPN.
All the above will have an impact on max duty hours and scheduling - so, as i said, both parties to blame.
With regard to the BAH flights - the MOD originally had a 747 for these flights, however the MOD then wanted the 767 instead. The 767 operates a hefty charter program from the UK, and then positions to BZZ to operate the BAH.
Apparently the MOD are paying XL 30% less then what they paid Air Luxor.
Am not saying XL are exempt of blame - perhaps both parties are geting what they signed up for !

Hey Saddam,
Just saying what I see matey. If the cap fits. EG one of the teenage hosties mentioned above, now pregnant by married squaddie, who was single whhen he had a hard on. Few more down the clinic. It will keep "trisha" in business for years. Do you still need to ask thwe OC for permission to marry? Pathetic, but clearly necessary. Brave men but emotional retards. You critisise crew at XL , I critisise the Mil. Ive have knowledge of both worlds in detail. You do the math. The world doesnt owe you a favour and we civvies are not all useless, especially the cabin crew at excel. I know more useless squaddies "dining out on " the war than useless hosties alleged in your experience.
Oh and by the way, 12 years in the airborne forces, and 18 as a pilot which has included contracts for more than one government have helped hone my allegedly demeaning opinion, not of any fighting prowess, but definately of a lack of chivalry, and the inability to differentiate beteen the truth and their penis (penii?), with behaviour in general more atune to a horny schoolboy than a man, unless the "sir" is watching.
My post on the mil section refers. (or did)
Back to the topic.
Irish cc has it summed up . Its the MOD that dont give a sh1t not XL.
Ps it seems that the mod on the Mil forum os more your type , removed my post on the topic.More your style eh saddam.
Have fun when you get out, theres loads of civvies just dying to welcome your past with total indifference.

Dear thrustucantrust,
in your first message you managed to insult the entire armed forces and all female cabin crew in the U.K. Well done!
Just one question, you don't teach C.R.M. at Excel do you?
