The Truck mmm heard a bit about it from the crew as im always trying to convince them to head into Tokyo for what i think is the worlds top nights out. However after reading this forum thread i feel i might just have to do it on my next trip over.
So any of the local keystone cops (Chibas finest) turn up for these rucks. I suppose they would have a problem nicking those very bad gaijin as they would have to nick the whole bar.lol.
So is it a mix of crew/ Ground and many Japanese? I kind of thougt it was more or less a gaijin only hang out. Whats the other places like around NRT?

Interesting thread keep them coming.

But guys, to get back to the topic inhand here, I too have heard lots of rumours about 2 of our crew getting into a fight (involving an iron) with 2 Qantas crew in the Virgin hotel in NRT very recently. Id be very very interested to know the full story!

So now it is the pub not the truck..mmmm

Was it over a virgin girl and the boys challenged each other to irons at 20 paces or was it a couple of sensitive boys having an iron off....

My blouse is ironed better than yours.....

another truck ruk!!!!

is it true the "story" i heard today about VS and QF crews in NRT? apparently it went one step further and it ended with a domestic appliance free for all! one poor guy lost an ear to a morphy richards food processor , another unlucky soul had a rather unfortunate ruckas with a dyson 5000 deluxe edition in sunset yellow! if anyone else would like to add to "what they saw" please fill us all in! it sound viscious!

If this ever did happen ..which knowing the usual BS that surrounds flying I doubt.
Then they were a pack of girls...honestly,can you imagine guys in a hotel room using an iron in a fight..spare me please...

I hope one of them did not break a nail...or smear his lipstick

Latest I have heard is that the QF crew ended up back at the crew room in the VS crew hotel. The crew room is near the 'laundry' room (that hotel does not provide inroom irons, you have to go to the laundry room to do your ironing) and the altercation reached 'ironing' point in there - but as NRT is my next (and last ) trip, I will do some more research

cleaning utensils and other fighting aids

Biscuit chucker..I'm sure that irons and other implements used around the home have been used for purposes other than which they were designed or intended.

However, the thought of a crew member using an iron to attack or defend themselves sounds a bit far fetched..unless you were being threatened with death...or you were some bible fanatic as you mentioned.

were these pugilists tech or cabin crew???

Even with the propensity for fighting that alcohol seems to be encouraging these days, this sounds unlikely even in the russell crowe suite in LAX

I can just see the next cabin crew news #57..

Attention crew ...Irons are not to be used for any purpose other than the correct grooming of uniform and personal attire...death or serious injury may result from such unnauthorised use and as such a request for said iron and board is to be put forward in triplicate to housekeeping

In a former life I used to wear a blue uniform and although I have seen many improvised weapons ,this one sounds like another bit of folklore unless the crew involved were either mentally unstable or affected by foreign substances...or maybe a bible meeting

Who knows what various crew digest in slip ports but for an item such as an iron to be used (if true) then stupidity booze or whatever must have been involved.

This sounds as though the argument was a little more than a disagreement about cricket or rugby if a weapon was used

You may all have missed the point !!
The referance to the word Iron may be a term used to flatten something or someone !!
"Yeah mate I threw a right hook and ironed him right out"

or maybe it was over a woman and the other half has returned and wanted the same thing as the other guy...stranger things have happened or started over the prospect of some horizontal fun....and the iron was close as the other guy came through the door....who knows....

the main problem is that you can't just expect some fun these days without someone else wanting to iron your clothes for you...if you know what i mean

This incident did happen. The virgin crew were followed back to the crew hotel by two males from the truck. They then seriously assaulted 2 members of the the virgin cc one male and one female , he was hit several times with an iron leaving him unconscious with bad head injuries and the girl having being punched several times. It took place in the vending area.

And you are saying they were Qantas crew????

if this did happen with serious injuries then the police would be all over with crew being questioned at the hotel ....this and considering I do a number of NRT's ,why is the only place I have heard of it is on PPrune

I can quantatively say this incident did take place, and given the pending police investigation and potential for prosecution against certain individuals (who have been positively identified by VS hotel CCTV footage in conjunction with the other airlines hotel reception staff) may I politely suggest discussion on this topic be suspended for now...

I'm sure you believe that it actually took place but in my time I have heard people swear on oath that they saw something happen or witnessed an event when in reality nothing happened or if it did it was completely different to what was described..

When was this alleged assault supposed to have occured?

LowerLobe I know for a fact that it took place, and that the crew involved have since returned to NRT to pursue the police actions... I am not at liberty to discuss it in any more detail on a public forum... sorry!

vending area

I work for Vs and I too heard this and thought - Im honestly not surprised as our guys can get a bit over protective of us sometimes!! Even if we just talk to other guys!!

It does totally make sense if it was in the vending area as there is a washing/vending machine area down there and thats usually where eventyone ends up for thier chix n chips of an eve!! (wot no ebaneezas!)

I find it interesting that in an industry that excels at rumour mongering that there is not a whiff of this in QF...To mates of mine and myself that are NRT regulars you would have thought that we would have heard about this by now especially if the local boys in blue are asking questions...

Maybe the guys involved are not with Qantas....I realise that you cannot give names here but someone here could at least give a time frame for this alleged assault. That would not prejudice any investigation!!!

Interesting how it has not made any news in sydney but then again if it was QF cabin crew it would be on pages 1,2 and 3 in every Australian newspaper but if it was QF tech crew then it would be hushed up and would probably never come out....This is if the alleged were in fact QF crew..
