Just got the movie today along with a couple of emails from her (Silver Tree). I reckon she was on a flight so was not able to respond immediately. She even offered to mail me another copy as well (FOC). Very impressive!!

That sounds more like the gal I was dealing with. Flight attendants are usually pretty tops when it comes to service, let's face it. Enjoy the movie

My friend who just watched my copy of the dvd said that the Captain is the guy who was on "Ed" all those years. Anyone know if that's true?

Dante,

put the actor's name into the search at IMDB.com (Internet movie database) and it should tell you what other films or shows that person ahs been in. Comes in VERY handy for solving those "wasn't s/he in...?" arguments....!

Oh, B. Indeed, the captain in the movie is the guy from ED. I love that tool and will use it for all the similar useless trivia I need to check on.

Wow. I had no idea I had started a topic that would turn out to be so popular (and heated). I did enjoy the movie though. I also enjoyed the review one of ou posted. It's cool to hear more about the production. Anyway, carry on - fly safe.

Mornin' all!

Well I finally got round to watching this film about 2 months ago, and needless to say I've finally got round to airing my views ont' PPRuNe.

I found it interesting to watch but I came away not feeling particularly overwhelmed by the story in any way. It was one of those films which isn't that memorable or a 'oh, I must watch this again sometime and recommend it to my friends' type scenario. I woulden't even suggest it to my colleagues.

I found the main character a bit of a selfish cow and didn't really warm to her even when she did have some unfortunate issues to deal with. This is mainly down to the way she ignores her mother (even if she was a bit of a hyperchondriac) and that fact that she thinks only a pilot will make her happy (get real).

It might have been realistic in places but only as far as the job goes, certainly not the lifestyle, that's down to the individual. The single soundtrack tune played in almost every scenario in the movie also got tedious after a while. I'm not saying the film is crap, just not that great. I'm left feeling that our profession isn't really one which can be portrayed well as a movie. 1 Star.

Man, I have flown wth a lot of FA'a who dig pilots...not sure why, exactly. I don't think it's very rare though.

HaHa. I have had my share of crew/pilot dates and seen many of my friends go on to marry pilots. Some of those are great relationships but I think it's hard unless you can work trips together.

I agree 100% relationships are tough enough eithout having to bid to see you loved one for five minutes. However, I have known some senior FA's who buddy bid with their honey and it works out.

Not sure when it started, how long it will last or any other details but I noticed that the Aviary dvd has been heavily discounted on the site - sort of strange as a discount is not mentioned anywhere else on the site but perhaps their oversight may be someones gain (sorry if that sounds rude but I love a bargain) Anyway, if it's over/fixed before anybody goes there, sorry - but I wanted to give the heads up.
