I can't believe the (not-very) original question was asked in the first place!
What's so different about pilots that sets them apart from any other bloke?
I would go out with whomever I was attracted to (provided the sights of me didn't make him puke - hahahaha), regardless of how he earned his wages.

Funnily enough a friend of mine is the daughter of a retired 747 captain. She recently admitted she was never attracted to pilots because of the hours they work. Her replies to all the "Wow, so your father is/was a 747 captain" was met with equal sceptism. Turns out she was jealous of all her friends dads when she was growing up cause they worked regular hours and came home for tea. At one stage she wanted to be a pilot but when she saw the stresses of the job her father was subject to she changed her mind, none of her large family became pilots or are even remotely involved with aviation. Wonder what that says. I find that attitude common among pilots children from the bit I've experienced.
As far myself couldn't care less about their high flying occupation though I believe pilots marriages eh haven't got the best record for success by far. If the're a nice person that's what matters, mind you I wouldn't exactly be attracted to a bin man so I suppose occupation does matter to an extent.

What about other crew?
As a single straight guy about to join a large international carrier, I am a little giddy at my prospects as there will be about a 5-1 ratio of women in the crew. To female Cabin Crew only date successful pilots and first-class passengers or to the male crew members get some attention too?

As usual the pilots completely try and take over a thread...my penis is bigger than yours etc etc etc!!!!Typical!
I am living with a female cabin attendant and she is great, we have a wonderful relationship and long may it continue!! I am not with her because she is CC and she is not with me because I am a pilot, we are with each other because we love each other. The job just brought us together.
She does look great in her uniform though!!!!

Ground examinations all completed, CPL skill test completed and trying to get through the IR - not having much luck with weather, aircraft and availability of CAA examiners!

The odds of picking the "right ones" are probably something like 3x10 to t power 6 - 1 !! Any way think all 4 of them are happily married now!
Still pondering over the student pilots, definately an option. Need to be a slightly mature student pilot tho!
