food

Do you guys do anything with the food on the plane. Do you eat it or throw it away. Are the meals for the cabin crew up to scratch or are they just crap. Just wanted to know

Meals get thrown away, hygiene purposes, and it's personal preference, but I'd say pax meals by far are better...

Whatever is not eaten by the pax gets thrown away. Crew are allowed to eat the pax meals that were not handed out or accepted.

As for crew meals, I'd estimate that around 90% of the crew meals we are given are totally inedible. Pax food is much better. I can only speak for the airline I work though, I know other airlines have much better food for crew.

Our crew menus are seasonally approved by the unions. Usually good quality, cannot complain.

Our crew meals are not the best. All you have to do is look at the table in our crew room to see them all left behind. Occasionally they are ok, but most the time I do not eat them. The chocolate's are always a winner!

just bring ya own if you can

I've found now it's always nice to bring food you make from home. I know it's hard to do but I'm finding with shiftwork and that...I find it hard to maintain my diet. I'm quite strict with diet and I know alot of the airline food is naughty!!!

I know QF used to have those sinful little sticky muffin things in business class...they came served on a little plate and were really sticky....they would stick to the tummy or bot bot!!!

Use it or lose it!

For years, I complained about Crew Food quality & quantity. Then along came the competitor loco's who solved the issue by simply not providing it. Now I eat what I get and keep quiet about it.

Management beancounters wake up in the night with woodies at the thought of dispensing with crew food.
