Cart_Tart

If you still have them, on the bottom of the email's that QF send you, it says "if any of your details etc should change, please ensure to contact them on........" it then has an address, which is probably the one that leemo just said, but there is something on the bottom of the email's anyway

OZcabincrew&Cart_tart and others..

OZcabincrew they are going through ALL short-listers both MAM and QF ,as far as who and how many ,they are yet to decide.Am sure evryone will eventually get the call.Good-luck and fingers crossed for ALL.

Cart_tart-don't stress out too much about the first aid, just do it ASAP,they won't overlook you just like that,as far as they were concerned yesterday,I didn't even have a first aid cert! They called me to ask me to get it to them soon, hence the reason for them going through the files on hold(a friend of mine got a call yesterday to get her passport renewed)They will probably call you if they notice the date and let you know.If you want the fax number or any other details PM me.

Again-Good-luck to all of you out there!

Wing 8

How certain are you that they are going through ALL shortlisters, both QF and MAM? Good news if they are! Are they just calling the people who need to update things ie passport, first aid cert etc? What you told us is that pretty much what they told you? I'm not doubting you one bit, just trying to get as much info as possible!!!! Wing 8, thanks again

Good luck everyone, look forward to seeing more positive posts and less of the negative!

thanks

In this industry, as you will find out one day when you do get the call ( yes, you possibly will, so just relax a little hun ) that nothing is for certain. A lot of rumours and hopes. Some come true, some don't. There are a lot of people in your position waiting to get called. Shortlisters, Mam'ers, and then there are others that are just hoping that QF will recruit again soon. Everyone is just as keen to get in. I know people on the Mam shortlist that are just as keen to start as the shortlisted candidates.

Wing 8 and others, are just posting any information that may be useful to others. We are not the ones calling the shots, so we can not promise or give you an exact date that you will get that call.

Just relax, try and not let it stress you out to much. We all know that you are very keen to start, but dont let it consume you. Just wait, chill, and let what is meant to be happen.

Goodluck, and hopefully we will be in longhaul ground school together sooner than later.

When you received the call did they contact you on your mobile or your home phone? This may seem like a silly question but I do have a reason for asking.

Thanks

Thank-you cloud nine-ditto!You have saved me a long post.

OZcabincrew I have posted what I was told -nothing more or nothing less-what eventuates is not known yet,I can understand you are anxiously waiting for your big break but in the mean time be grateful you are on A short-list and Relax!

They called me on my mobile but on my application form I had suggested that this was a more reliable number than home#.

This forum is brilliant for people like ourselves as without it we would be driving ourselves crazy with the many questions-no guarantees but at least it helps with the frustration and anxiety levels-thanks to all of you out there who post what you know-rumour or fact!

I agree this forum is excellent source of knowledge, support, fact and rumour!

Its a bit of a Damocles sword though, sometimes the knowledge can be just as frustrating as not having it!

Nature of the industry - at least it keeps ya on ya toes!

Talking Go Girl

It is a good feeling when you realize you are ON file!

Good news for you Wing8. Hopefully your chance to fly will be soon.
I agree, this forum is a great way for us waitlisters to communicate. Even if it keeps your positive thinking going. We hear words like over staffed, cost cutting, and down turn in avaiation constantly.

It make the dream seem impossible. But NOTHING is impossible!!
Lets hope we will all be flying soon!!

As said in previous posts, I am more than happy that i am on the shortlist and am more than happy to wait! Just wanting to get as much info as possible like everyone, understanding that a lot of it is rumours. I don't doubt that there are MAM shortlisters just as keen to get in, why wouldn't there be, they're equally in the same position as QF shortlisters???? and GalleyHag, yes I am DESPARATE to get this job, just like every other shortlister around!

Sorry guys!
But thanks!

Well it is great to hear that there maybe something positive happening with all the short listers.... My fingers are crossed for all of you.

I do have a little problem with you PP, you send this "ground stopping" post about the LCC, recruitment that goes with it, and all the other info that is far from set in concrete, BUT, you never seem to pop up to answer any of the questions, that us main liners, Q-Link crew, short listers have been wanting to know since you made your so called announcement... oooohhhhhh perhaps you have great enjoyment sending such a post and watching all the short listers and current crew battle it out over this site, trying to come to some understanding of what "MAYBE " going on. For some one who is soooooooooo in the know, with all this information, start coughing it up PP!

I'm starting to find this particular thread very frustrating!

Wally's like you....

Sorry have to fly and do a few trips now and then between writing on this site. I didn't have time to write any news as I have been away on back to back trips and fit in my sisters wedding.
I really couldn't give a dame about people fighting over crappy childish answers like yours. I'll have five minutes tomorrow to read through all the posts and respond to them if thats what you would like, sorry it hasn't been quicker but I spend less and less time on this site because of ******s like you.

QT private message me if you want to debate something or re read my post were the second one says everything as I know it from that date.

Cheap shot,
read through my posts over the last 12 months and tell me something that hasn't eventuated or hasn't been true.

Have a break!

Hi Everyone!

I really think we all need to just step back and take a deep breath for a moment and then start again. Everyone is either on the shortlist and hoping to be called up or wannabes hoping for recruitment soon or current QF crew worrying about their careers. We all know it is stressfull times for everyone and just need to relax. As i've recently realised, by everyone in this forum bickering and arguing over comments or previous posts is not going to get us anywhere, they are all rumours and yes sometimes rumours do come true and sometimes they don't. None of us have any control over this. So lets all just sit back and take it as it comes and keep our fingers crossed for everyone!

PP
Thank you for replying, i knew you would come up for a bite over my post, but good to see you are still alive and kicking...
As a crew memeber, i don't feel that any of my questions are silly, we just would like to know some insight to what is happeneing. You think about it... from our position it is like you are dangling a carrot in front of a rabbit, giving us this info, but not responding, and then having a tiny dig, when we do, have something to say.
I have never doubted that your info is not correct, but it certainly does get some attention, i am just asking for some responses, to our questions, thats all.

Wally's?

Lets not go there, girlfriend!

Peanut Pusher,

What Q-T has to say is quite true. If you take a look at alot of the posts here on this topic there has been a LOT of questions asked! I must say, it surprises me that you havent responded - and I am not Short Haul OR on the Short List.

It is a fair comment to say that the situation is a frustrating one - to receive some news which directly affects your current position and quite possibly threatens your job security - then to boot, ask questions and not get ANY answers. You can hardly blame people for feeling this way - it is to be expected.

We are now in November, folks. All will be revealed soon. I have heard that before Chrissy, the FAAA will be holding meetings for all members from all airlines within the QF group to attend. All questions will be answered then and there. I would encourage all to attend.

Think perhaps we should lay off PP. He/she hasn't professed to being our local 'Q & A' person for QANTAS's LCC.

HOWEVER, PP, you must release the carrier's proposed name you made reference to, as soon as you are allowed!

FAAA Meeting

Will this meeting be open to ALL members?
I am currently an associate like may of my fellow ex flight attendants colleages. I am also a QF shortlister. I applied to QF one year ago tomorrow. I think this is the longest job application wait I have every been through. I too would like to know some accurate info in regards to my application and future. If it will be transfered to the LCC shortlist? Will I have some form of opportunity? I am likely to be considered for long haul? And how much longer do I have to wait for a job i know little about as far as conditions ie permanant v's casual v's fixed term?
It is great to have people like PP trying to shead light and what could be ahead and don't be put off by some others comments. They are frustrated and anxious to hear how the new airline will affect their future.
Any information is appreciated!
Time, date and location important, please.

good lord

although i used to post on here a lot, i now just sit back and watch what everyone else is writing.

Stop digging into PP, he is just being nice and friendly and letting all you guys know whats going on.

I think if it wasnt for his posts a lot of you wouldnt know what is going on.

PP doesnt have to tell anyone anything, but he knows what its like waiting for that call, or to know exactly whats going on.

I guess u just have to learn patience, if you cant learn it now I honeslty dont think you will ever get the job. I know of people who have been waiting for nearly 2 years. They are calm, cool and just going on with their lives, and one day I know they will get that call.

Chill out guys, I am sure in the coming weeks everyone will know what is going on, and then let the recruitment drive begin. ( i am no expert, but if you are impatient and or desperate this will show in interviews and isnt a good thing!)

not having a stab at anyone in particular, and dont go bashing me on this forum....JUST CHILL! its all a journey to that trolley in the sky!

As a crew member I greatly appreciate the information posted by PP. This type of information is not freely available to line flight attendants.

The faaa domestic/regional division has already started discussion with the LCC and general meetings will be called soon for members as previously advised. I think the meetings will only be for QF crew from short haul and regional.

For more information go to www.faaadomestic.org.au

If you look under Qantas and Industrial you will find a newsletter on the LCC.

The same for Impulse/Eastern/Sunstate as career progression is on the Agenda.
