Dental X-ray
Hello to you all, once again!!
I have a problem :ugh:, so if anyone can help, please do so :) Well, the thing is that my dentist told me to do the X-ray first, then she filled "dental assessment after the X-rays", and after that she began with the treatment... I mean, who was I to question her decisions... But now I see that everybody here on the forum, first had their teeth done, and then took the X-ray, which sounds quite logic to me... Now I have more fillings than she wrote in the report :}, and don't know what to do... Should I repeat the X-ray (not recommended by dentists without justified medical reason, only once in three years...) and have the new dental report done or ??? My DOJ is only a week ahead... Some advice please |
hey regarding dental issues do you know if wearing braces are a problem?i'm wearing clear braces, not metallic ones,i don't have missing teeth or something, but i'm sure it counts..could you help me with some information?thanks!
|
Mari thank you very much for the information,I find this forum very helpful and I've seen that you always try to help, thank you for that! Also for encouraging me with the braces,I'm very focused on solving this problem, being a cabin crew is one of the reasons I wanted to get it done you know...I've flown for a low cost company here and it wasn't a problem but for me it is.In any case if for the moment is not acceptable I won't give up and I'll try again later when I take them off because I know this is my passion.
I am aware of the whole situation regarding Bucharest and the thing that annoys me is that you have to go through a preselection made by a recruitment agency here just to get to an AD.This is why I'm planning to go to Belgrad on the 18th of June,at least it makes me feel more confident actually meeting people from Emirates. |
Thank you, Mari, very much :)
They accepted my medicals a month ago, but I have just recently found out that everybody else did the X-Rays after they had their treatment completed!! My dentist first filled out the report according to the X-Ray, and then did my teeth!? Now I'm freaking out. I don't want to expose my self to any unnecessary radiation, but I have also heard that doing it (an X ray) in Dubai would cost me like 100 times more!!! Should I do just a new report, stating those additional fillings, and bring it with me to Dubai along with the old one? |
why???
I'm wondering if my English is good enough.
Criss, I don't see the reason why you went to Belgrade. Same like in Bucharest: hundreds of applicants. Why is Belgrade exactly better for you? Beside paying for the transport and accomodation. Why the hell did I just write down the numbers?????? Yes, my flatmate (ex) was hired from Belgrade at the end of 2009. It's possible. 500 applicants. Good luck. Never mind that I gave you the tips about the places around with much less applicants. Well, if you want to see Belgrade, go for it. The trams are funny. Azafata, did you get an e-mail from the company to repeat that x-ray??????? It doesn't cost 100 times more for sure. (I belive it would be free or charge. Same story with the vaccinations, a new-joiner told me.) Would you be so kind and listen to me and wait for the response? Well, on the other hand, keep freaking out, do the x-ray as many times you want. ---- Why do you post questions on a forum when you already made up your minds???? |
How about italy, how many are they at an OD? as it will not be held in Rome I really hope not so many.. because I am also avoiding bucharest like this (as I'm romanian, received an invitation from the recruitment agency for the prescreening but I did not go as i am living in Italy for the time being) :)
my friends which have just joined emirates did not send any x ray report, just some declaration from the dentist that they're in a good dental condition and they're already in dubai, fine with it. |
Montreal as well!!!
Hey! I did the final interview in Montreal on June 4th.
It went good, but after all I am still wonder... did I was really that good... anyway, just a week past ans it already feel like it's been forever... How you doing? How was your interviw??? keep me posted, and take care!;) |
Chapter4
Hi there, are you in the field how was the Montreal OD a lot of people??
|
Fleity89
Thank you.:)
Just try to forget about it for now and go about doing your business. they will call you when you least expect it. Hang in there and good luck!:ok: Keep me updated! |
Mari I know Belgrad it's not such a good idea but I have a good friend there and I will stay with her.I'll only pay for transportation so I said let's give it a try.For the moment because of financial difficulties I can't go somewhere else even though I wanted to.
|
Ahahahahaha, Mari you're the best. :)
That's just what I needed. A chill-out & get a grip response. It's just that we, the new joiners, due to the numerous "true" stories form the who-knows-what hand, tend to freak out without any logical reason... Once again, thanks Mari... .... from a girl who has more tooth-fillings in her mouth :} than written in the report, ahahaha |

my open session interview
Please someone help me out.....I went to an open house interview with emirates and passed the first test.the second test was english test ....and we had to write an essay on..my biggest mistake and what i learnt from it...i guess this is where i failed...my opening sentence went like this...'i tend to believe that mistakes dont exist only challenges and solutions....then i went ahead and gave a case scenario on my high school days which i feel was great...does anyone have an idea on how to answer to these questions?
i was eliminated on this round.the interviewer gave me that look of disappointment ...i guess she believed i would have gone far..i have to reapply after 6months.is it a must i wait for 6months?anyone who has been on this situation?please help me and give me some ideas on the questions they ask? i appreciate your help in advance. |
what was it about your essay? tell us what did they ask you to write. (the subject)

Can a married cabin crew couple with prior experience as cabin crew with an international airline stay and fly together if they are selected for Emirates?
Is there something like a 'couple code' where the roster for the couple are similar? |
Married couples
I've never heard of such 'married couple code' in aviation. The first 6 months, you will be on probation with Emirates so you won't be able to 'bid' or choose your flights. Plus, even if you applied together, it's possible that you don't get your GC the same day, therefore you might start at different date. But I guess the second to receive his/her GC can ask to leave the same date, if possible. When your probation period is over, you can bid for the same flights and if you have similar seniority, it's possible that you might have a similar roster, but not guaranteed. Again, depending on the fleet, you might not work side by side since usually (I guess it's the same with EK) it's the CCM who choose the position on board. In other words, be prepare to be separate at some point. But at least, if you make it together in Dubai, you will get 45000 dirhams in allowances for living. So yes, you will live together.

EK weight restrictions
Hey everyone!
I have a concern... I am a little worried about my weight for EK. I made it to the FI and am waiting for my GC. In the interim I have been dieting and exercising to lose excess weight. I'm a large framed guy but I could probably lose about 10 kgs or so. How chubby is too chubby for Emirates? If it was a problem I would assume that they would not have let me go until the Final Interview; but what about after medicals? Has anyone every heard of someone being denied because they were too heavy? Should I be worried? Thanks :ugh: |
My essay was about "the world mistake I've ever made" but I think every subject is different.
|
About the dreaded essays...
To tideland: I usually write that I have no religion, i.e. you respect all religions but do not share. That's it.
I think the essays are very important in the English exam, unfortunately. Because you never know what to say and how to say.:sad: EK, why do not we make life easier? Keep on dreaming guys... |

Golden call
Hi Everyone, I just receive my Golden Call at midnight ... here in Brazil !!! I cant believe !!!!!!
And so far I heard another 2 from my group got the call tonight !!! Hope it keeps coming to everyone here in brazil and around the globe !! I wanna see everyone there !! Open day : May 21th, 2011 AD : 29th FI:31th Status: You will be contacted by your Recruitment coordinator at the earliest on 7th of June. Golden Call: 14th June !! Join Date if I am not wrong: July 25th :ok: |
Fleity89
Your BMI should not be more than 28. If it is between 25-28, it's permissible if the abdominal circumference is within non-obese limitsfor the gender and ethnicity. Proportional weight to height is the key. You have to stay fit and healty for the job : if an attendant gains too much weight, he or she is put on a diet by the airline's resident nutritionists. I read this quote in an article but it could be otherwise in reality. I guess that would be for someone who puts on weight drastically.

Hi PPruners :)
I want to share my journey with all of you. I've been trying to be cabin crew for the last 3 and half years! I was successful with Etihad in 2009, got placed in the holding pool for close to a year waiting for training dates and then I was told that I need to reapply. Didn't get in. :( I tried Qatar, made it until the joining formalities (medicals etc), but was unable to join at that time. Didn't get in. :( I tried Emirates for the first time last year, made until the group discussion and then got the boot. Didn't get in. :( At this stage I pretty much put my flying dream in the back seat and forgot about it, moved on and focused on other things. That's until I received the sms from Emirates advising me to check my email. I was invited to attend an assessment day that I hadn't even applied to. Gave it a try and what do you know, I'm now counting down the days to my date of joining. Got in :) Here's my details: ASESSMENT DAY - 07 MAY FINAL INTERVIEW - 08 MAY APPROVAL IN PROGRESS - 23 MAY YOU WILL BE CONTACTED - 25 MAY GOLDEN CALL - 27 MAY DATE OF JOIN - 11 JULY To all of you guys who have been trying for a while and to those who are trying for the first time, DON'T GIVE UP! Especially if you truly believe that you have what it takes to make it. And please guys, be honest with yourselves. If you haven't made it pass the first round of all of the 10 assessment days you've been to, then maybe this is not for you. But otherwise, KEEP TRYING :) Good luck to all of you and I promise to stay in touch and keep you guys updated on what life is like being an Emirates Crew Member. See you in Dubai soon ;) Congratulations Honey16 :) :) :) I can't wait for us to celebrate together in true Arabian style ;) Shisha party coming up soon ;) |
confused
Heyyy Guys, this is my first post here and This forum is really great and helped me alot especially during my interview stages.
:confused:But i have a question : in my final interview i've completed everything formal and casual photos eeeeverything , then i've received an e-mail today they're telling me that i have pending photos and i have to send them as soon as possible, i sent them right away BUT why i have to send them the photos again????????????????? :ugh: did anyone had the same problem???? |
joy88
I suggest that you either email them or ring them. I can happen that you might have to redo the picture, but it's better to contact them in order to be sure.
|
Congrats
Incredible, so happy for you guys.:D
I honestly get happy when somebody else receives his golden call. Congratulations, Honey16, Flydai and Shatinho, you made it.:O But now I'm so confused because Shatinho and Flydai received their G calls in two and a half weeks after their FI. And you Honey16 had to wait for five. Is it normal that some people wait that long, and some others get call right away? My status still says "under review," I'm so impatient now:ugh: Does anybody know how they let you know if they don't want you? Fleity89 dont worry, I know how you look like, and you are fine. If you are dieting good for you but remember that they kept us there till the final Inter. That hopefully means they liked us, at least I want to think that way. Once again, wish you all the best, and hope to meet everybody in Dubai :ok: |
hello guys
congratulations to all those who got their call :)
4 weeks of waiting now since my final interview - however am bit surprised to see that some who went for their final interview after me already got the call from Emirates. |
Hi Spikes
I understand your worries Spikes,
even though it has been only two weeks since my FI. I hope you will hear from them soon:rolleyes: Hard to understand how everything works over-there:hmm: Lets hope for the best, and don't loose our hope. :ok: Please keep us posted. |
2nd psychometric test in FI - Help
Hello everyone. I have just attended Emirates FI in Istanbul; but something really bothers me as even if I had completed a 180-question online psychometric test which recruiters sent to me online via a link, today they have asked me to fill another different 187-question psychometric test on paper. And only me and another guy filled it, while the rest did not. Has anyone else experienced the same? Is it a bad sign, as I am worried that I may already be eliminated . Thank you in advance for your answers.
