I am concerned, that I wont be able to mentally and physically succed, to finish the trainig and probation..
So the question : What if I won't be able to complete everything, to live and work there, can I leave after a month? How do these thing work?

Help me please, I really need to know..

Mari 9th June 2011 19:39

You received a paper at your open day. Did you read it?

Probation: Six months – begins from the day of your flight to Dubai. Notice period during probation is one week. Notice period after probation is one month. Cabin Crew, who resign for any reason before the end of their probationary period, may be asked to pay retention monies, which could sum to a total of AED 8000. This would be paid towards the starter pack in their apartment, cost of visa, medical expenses, and training expenses. Graduation takes place after probation.

Greetings from Brazil everyone. Believe me its cold here today. I was just part of OD here in Sao Paulo Brazil on May21, 2011.
There were over 200 people maybe more on OD. About 86 made to the AD and 16 to the FI. Which mine was May 31,2011 :ok:
So far I am waiting on the famous GC. Some how I cant access my emirates account online and its giving me a message.. "You will be contacted by your Recruitment coordinator at the earliest"

I will let you guys know when I receive or not the call !! Lets be positive !!
I am getting a eye surgery done.. bye bye glasses !!! Cant wait to wear some sunglasses in Dubaii....
Take care everyone and good luck !!!

medicals

I have a problem. I have up-loaded all the medical documents, file size is less than 1mb and after few days, after the dead line I have received an email from emirates asking me to confirm if I'm in process of completing them or to confirm my decision. I can see on the candidate portal that my medicals are not completed, but I don't have any other document to upload beside the security documents.:(Submited a query and still waiting...
And another thing. My haemoglobin level is 14,2.Is not to high?

Mari 9th June 2011 21:31

Man, check the requirements: it should be higher than 10. It's your iron. It means you are healthy and fit.

Many receive this e-mail, read back. It must be an error. Let them know that your file is complete.

Question for Fleity89

Hi there Fleity89, I also had my FI on May 31th in NYC.
Forgive me but uncertainty is killing me, just trying to figure out if I know who you are.
Are you male of female, and where were you sitting when we were filling out those forms Sunday afternoon?

Wish you all the best:D

imani 10th June 2011 06:45

Flydai, Congratulations judging from the past posts from several ppruners when you get the "You will be contacted by your Recruitment coordinator at the earliest" it means in a few days they will give you your GC.
anacernic, do I wish i had your dilema.:E Hehe. Dont worry as iio78 has said I am also sure that you will love it.
In other news, My AD is tomorrow.

about papers

hi everyone

well i'll go to an OD in Serbia (Belgrad) on 18 june so i need to know the exactly papers that i should bring for this 1'st step and how many time pass till the first day and the last day of this procedure, because i saw that after the first da if you pass you go to the second step etc..I'm asking this because i must know for how many days i should make the ticket flight for serbia. And i had another problem , that my passport expire on jully so in case that i must bring with me the passport for this Od i should renew it before the day 18 .i'll be really glad if somebody can give me some informations about this. Thanks

sublime 10th June 2011 12:42

Hi, I am also from Italy and I will attend the 9th of july Florence OD. I can answer you some question.. there can be 3 days: first the OD, then the second day the AD and third day, interview. So I think if you are chosen you must stay 3 days BUT in few cases it happened that there were very few people and they made the OD as the AD, so it kept only 2 days. You will see then.
You need to bring your updated CV, a passport photo (but if you are chosen you have to provide 6 passport photos in business attire), a full length photo in business suit, where you smile, all photos to be made on white background.
You dont need your passport for the open day. I don't even have a valid passport! If you are chosen at the final interview, they will give you time to make your passport, no worries!

mat2882 10th June 2011 14:25

Hi experienced crews out there,

May i check with you guys if i had applied for an assessment day online and the status of my application shows 'applied'. If i am shortlisted, will it change? If i am not shortlisted, will it change as well?

Regards
Kenny

easyman82 10th June 2011 14:48

not necessary. you might get an invite and your status will remain "applied" or not get an invite at all and your status will still remain "applied".

sublime 10th June 2011 14:56

Oh, about the status I also have a question. I registered on their site and my status is ''application under review''. I haven't yet participated to an open day,but they did send my application to the recruitment agency in my romania and got invited. As I can't go in romania I applied on emirates site to an open day, but the status is ''incomplete''. Why would this status appear? Can this be because it says I have the CV completed only at 85%? I will however present myself to the open day in italy considering I don't need an invite anyway..

antoanelavizireanu 10th June 2011 15:08

Hi sublime well thanks for this informations .Somebody told me that if you pass OD you should wait some weeks for Ad and other i don't know how many weeks for FI . is because of this that i'm asking how much time must pass by the Od untill Ad ..can you give me youw is messenger so we can talk there?
thanks

also my status is applied but in this case is an Od so i don't need invitation

mimi294 10th June 2011 17:06

confused

Today i attended the open day...and i got the unsuccessful letter after the first round. I do feel somewhat confused to what i did not do, or what i could have done question?????

It started at 9am, the lady wanted us to impress her by telling her our knowledge of dubai or the emirates. I did participate. I reached the 212 cm reaching test. The lady after the reach test asked me what I am doing at work at the moment. The reach test was done at the same time as the group discussion was going on. We had to ask the person on our right with whom he/she would like to spend the 24 hours with? and after the reaching test were done we had to present to the group. I kept it brief and simple and faced the group of course. Then the lady had us discuss and vote on 3 most important people who we think can lead the world? at this time they were then sitting down and at this point noting who have passed r not. It means that the 2nd group discussion didn't count...the ladies wanted time to classify their confirmation letters!! we said oprah, hillary clinton and the sheihk. After this second group discussion we were asked to leave the room.In less than 2 minutes they called us collectively and give us the letters..This is how far i got throughout the whole process....

It is somewhat deceiving that some gals were not wearing business attires and they got the successful letter. But i will try again. All the best to those who are going to try. remember to not talk too much, aloud just to impress yourself instead. I guy in my group didnt make it because he was more like giving the impression hes better than everyone else, or more like likes to be the leader.

so please be yourself, and all the best of luck!!

sublime 11th June 2011 17:05

thanks for sharing! just try again! there were people here telling they got in dubai after they were rejected 3 times before, at the OD or AD or FI..so, don't give up :D

would like to ask you..

did they allow you at the reach test to stay up on your toes? because like this I can reach easily 212 but with foot quite on the ground not..

I will participate in the 9th of July at a OD but I am quite down with the moral because even though I might be as appearance what they are looking for (maybe? have big mouth and smile with teeth, lolz) I do have 2 little tattoos on the back..they are not visible, one can be covered with high waist and the otherone with the bra. But I heard of people being rejected also with tattoos not visible.. so I am thinking of not declaring them, and in case they would choose me I would have them removed.

easyman82 11th June 2011 17:19

sublime - you can stand on your tiptoes it is allowed and regarding your tattoos if it is not visible actually you don't need to worry but if you have this fear no need to declare it then

criss. 11th June 2011 17:45

hey i'm attending the OD in Belgrad on the 18th of June and I have a question somebody else asked also...what papers do you need exacly to have with you if you make it through the whole selection right down to the FY?I need to know cause I'm making an effort to get there and I would kick myself if I mess it up because of some papers you know:) I've also seen that the selection process can last about 10 days from the OD until the FY,I didn't know that,it's good I found out,to change the date of my return trip.every information is helpful here thanks a lot!

Montreal86 11th June 2011 17:57

Montreal 3rd of june OD

Did anyone went to the OD in Montreal on 3rd of June, 2011??:)

Coco05 11th June 2011 18:08

WOw,we got a lot of new joiners here! Welcome and goodluck to all aspiring applicants.

To those who got their GC,congratulations and see you all soon in Dubai. May you all be able to deal with the summer heat. Any assistance or questions,I wouldn't mind answering them :)

Our batch together with 2 other batches(main fleet and A380) graduated last June 8 and I could not believe that 6 months have gone by that fast. We are finally a "fully pledge cabin crew"...Insert inside joke! Off probation and hello bidding and swapping flights. Holla!

It has been a crazy roller coaster 6 months ride. From days where you don't feel like doing a turnaround to days where you are so excited to do a layover.

To all,aim for your dreams and fly high!

Hi all,
I received the 'not shortlisted' status finally on all applications i have ever sent to emirates even the ones that were long overdue and done so i guess they either sent a general command to all my applications or ................ i just don't get it!!!! Anyway i guess that's it for me because am not growing any younger and i think after sometime you give up on a dream and concentrate on another which is what i have embarked on. I am glad i got to know all you great guys on this forum

YULFA

Hey Yulfa! I will be attending OD in LA on the 18th... :ok:

MIK2009 12th June 2011 09:23

thank you

Yes i will try again.I also know a friend who joined emirates after trying four times!! its very easy to give up but not easy to go through the disappointment phase. It takes a lot of courage and support. I have note down the possible reasons why i may have not not passed the first round, and will try to work on them before the 6 months. And i reached the reaching test on tip toes so its okay.no need to worry.

I am going to work on my weight!! likely cause i am chubby. secondly participate at least once during the open question and answers. And maybe i should have given the lady more attention, like stop putting on my shoes when she asked me about my work, when the reach test was done. Maybe my body posture was not good, i dont know. But will surely be more confident next time!! all i know is that emirates picks the best, and the chubby crew currently working now must have gained weight after joined emirates.

On the open day, the screening is very very important. They may not be paying much attention to you but they are!! these people are very professional. I think you should be who you are, slim, smile!! friendly with everyone else!! be brief and simple when answering to question!! cause they are looking for quality of crew that will pass the intensive trainning!! you must have resilience, since its a physical job.....to everyone who was not successfull please try until your dream comes true!!
