Hello everyone I will try and cut long story short..

Applied back in November 19th, just turned up at the open day to see what all the fuss was about :)

Only two days ago I recieved a phone call at 12pm at night, and as my phone was on silent which I am guessing is the golden phone call as I had a bit of trouble with casual photos etc so thats why it took so long....

I have just called them and I start on the 26th February, so have two weeks to do medicals...(i am terrified)

I am over the moon with excitement and cannot wait to give this a go, but I have a question regarding my long term boyfriend who would love to work over there also as he is a plumber.. is it possible for him to live with me or we can move out or is it just a NO GO!?

Hi guys,

Can anyone shed some light on the 10 non-digital/non-polaroid photos we need to take to dubai? None of the photo shops or studios seem to do take any othet kind of photo besides digital. I submitted a query about this and was told to look at important notes on the candidate portal but, it does not help! Please explain, im desperate as my DOJ is in 12 days! Thanks!

Durban Girl, ever heard of passport pictures? I am a hundred percent sure that it is described properly. Anyway, non-digital means printed out.

Scousejessie, your boyfriend can look for a job in Dubai but you can only live with him when you're married. He can't stay overnight since he is not Emirates crew. But if he finds an appartment, you can stay at his place overnight. He wont find a job as a plummer tough, just because this jobs are all done by massively underpaid thirdworld country citizens, these poor guys share a room two, three, four together and the little money they have they send it home. So if he wants to come he might have to look into finding another job! Good Luck!

I went to the OD/AD in Melbourne on the 7th. Got the tattoo form a few hours ago and sent it back straight away...

As I never applied online I can't check any kind of status.. Just waiting on more mails or a call :)

I was in an OD the 7th too, I haven received any kind of mails though, but maybe its because I already filled the tatoo form the same day, the only thing that is left for me to fill could be the grooming standards form, and they dont even send that to everyone, so its just a matter of wait and see.

KuB, you do have a profile in the emirates career page? What does it say? It says that you have applied to 0 jobs?

Advice please???

I attended the Vancouver OD but didn't receive a call back for the AD, however, I received an email from EK yesterday inviting me to the Edmonton OD. Unsure of what this means, as most Vancouver people didn't get calls back... am I to assume that they are looking to see us in Edmonton?

Did anyone else get this email as well? Any help would be appreciated.
Also, my status on my profile has been updated to "Under Review"

You didnt open a profile in the Emirates Group Careers page, even after the recruitment? Thats weird cause the recruiters asked several times to open a profile if we didnt have one already. But its good to know that in the end its not that strictly necessary, since you already received the tatoo form even though you didnt open an account in the emirates page.

As a matter of fact I had created an account in the past but I didn't go any further than registration. I didn't fill up my profile, at all, I never used it. I never even logged back in. So just out of curiousity I logged back in just now and nothing has changed.

The recruiters never told us to create a profile if we didn't have one and I don't even recall them asking if we had one.

By the way, things seem to be moving quite fast!

I had my AD on the 7th in Melbourne and my FI on the 9th. I got the tattoo form yesterday by e-mail and I just got a call from Dubai.. Not a GC tho :) They needed more information because I hold 2 passports. But I take it as a good sign!

hei! Does anyone know a number where I can call to ask about my situation?It's been almost 6 weeks and still no word from them...

I also was waiting for almost 6 wks. Sent then an email yeserdtay evening and this morning in my inbox what I find.... Rejection mail. Badd news. It seems. That if your AIP for a long time its not good.

They called me last week to tell me to remove my tooth jewelry, and after to send them an email saying that i have removed it and it did not leave any marks....since then..nothing.I don't know what to believe...

yes, it was AIP. for about 2 weeks.

I dont know what to tell you, 5 weeks its a long time. Lets face the true, the majority of successful candidates, get response within 4 weeks. Write them an e-mail and simply ask.

I think that many people wait for weeks, and get no response simply becasue rejection emails are not the priority for the HR.
