I understand it can go either way but if you get to the reference check stage what chance would you give of being progressed to medical?

General indications from reading through old threads seems to give it a 75% chance of going the rest of the way

Jackbr 21st Mar 2012 08:55

I think reference check stage means that they're happy with you as a person and are satisfied with your answers in the panel interview and how you interact with others, and simply need to establish that your customer service experience and skills are exactly what they need.

If that's the case I think medical is likely.

Anyone has any good news? I am still waiting after my references...

CassieFlyGirl87 26th Mar 2012 05:39

Bluesky20 27th Mar 2012 09:02

Hey guys i have a quick question. Whats the difference between working for qantas directly or working for qantas through MAM?

CassieFlyGirl87 28th Mar 2012 02:50

From reading on here I don't think MAM employees get as many benefits as Qantas employees. But it doesn't matter as there is no choice, as far as I know Qantas no longer recruit directly, you have to go through MAM. Possibly later on you can sign on as a full timer with Qantas but I'm not sure. Happy to be corrected.

Bluesky20 28th Mar 2012 14:45

Thanks CassieFlyGirl87 Got invited to the recruitment day in syd on the 5th april. Fingers Crossed.
Ps- Congrats on your golden call:). Did they tell you after how long after your ground school will you actually begin flying with qantas?

Jecui 29th Mar 2012 01:18

Bluesky, you start flying as soon as ground school finishes.

cc_skyqueen 29th Mar 2012 02:51

I have played the waiting game before so I thought I would be much more calm about it this time around however it is just as bad as the first time!!

I hope they send me for medicals soon :(

carguard 30th Mar 2012 01:43

How long are the layovers / nightstops with mam ?

FutureQFA 30th Mar 2012 08:01

I got offered a training school date but it has been postponed till a later date. Is anyone on here on the same boat?

perthboy87 30th Mar 2012 09:10

Yeah I got offered the next GS, but had to ask for a later one due to current employment and resignation requirements! Hopefully everything will work out! 2nd May at this stage! :)

CassieFlyGirl87 30th Mar 2012 10:09

I was booked in for an 11th of April start but they rang today to say there'd been a delay and I'm now starting 2nd of May.

FutureQFA 30th Mar 2012 10:18
