Iam in the same position as you. I have friends from mel and syd base get that email to I've been told its Australia wide as qantas has cut down on flights

I know a girl who this happened to a few years back and she was called within 9 mths so let's hope that it happens within the 12 mths.

It's such a shame however don't loose hope and hopefully u get that call out of the blue.
I have also heard that things may pick up after end of financial yr however don't Quato me on that.

Same here, I attended the AC back in feb (feb 14th) and been waiting. references were done and I was just waiting for them to ask me to do my medical then I got the same E-mail. Holding pool :ugh: Let's see. Hope it's not too long! Really hope it just doesn't fizzle out!

So to speak from history, this has happened in the past with QD, QCCA & MAM. Some people do receive a call for a start however it generally depends on network planning. These plans are released at set times throughout the year and constantly updated depending on commercial requirements. It can unfortunately be a very long & tiresome wait for nothing.

Advice? Wait and check your emails as when/if the phone call occurs it can be at very short notice (i.e.: 1-3weeks).

As for current GS's that are underway they will complete their training & head online.

I got my ground school date last week for June... am I right to assume it is still going ahead? Getting a little nervous with all this talk!

I did my medical about 2 weeks ago and got my call with a GS date 2 working days after.

ye i did my nearly two weeks ago but no luck yet will see what happens

I would forget about Qantas and apply for other airlines who are offering a FULLTIME job with sick and annual leave and proper staff travel. Something that Qantas doesn't offer with MAM Casual.

In the near future i doubt they will have any GS going through-theres too many crew and not enough flying - at the moment anyway. For those who got the email-keep your options open.

I just spoke to MAM and confirmed that the May & June GS are going through.

However they did not have enough spaces to for everyone in the last (June) GS therefore those applicants will be placed on hold.

Is anyone else starting June 4th with me??? :)

Have you received the timetable yet? This week we only have 2 days of training then have the rest of the week off and fly home on the 7th. Waste of time if you ask me lol. PM or email me and ill give you my number, and you can text or call me when we land in Sydney if you like :)
