I felt the AD was much more relaxed than unexpected, I've heard very scary stories about AD's with other airlines.
I will also emphasizes presentation, you can nail the interviews etc but if you look a bit messy you have no chance. Don't put your stockings on till the last min and bring a spare pair, I saw a girl with a ladder - no chance. Brig make up and hairspray and touch up your hair & make up at every chance. Prepare for th questions they might ask, and friendly and chatty with the interviewers and other interviewees at all times. Good luck!!

Can anyone let me know a Virgin recruitment number that works?

Whenever they called me , they called from a private number and now I have no number to try and find out whats going on....I think they do this on purpose!:ugh:

Virgin EBA

Hi Guys,

can anyone advise if the Virgin EBA goes up each year? Is the entry level pay $38k or $44k plus allowances... (I've seen two different posts earlier in the thread relating to this saying different amounts).

Just trying to sus out the budget for next year and wasn't given any pay info even at the AD/interview.

Thanks so much :)

Just wondering if anyone has recently sat the online questionnaire for Virgin Australia for the guest services role? I am wondering if anyone hasn't gotten through from sitting the online exam? Pretty nervous, only got up to question 19 out of 30. How long does it take for them to get back to you after sitting the test?

Thanks :)

Hello Highflyer.. I like the doll bit!! Thanks for the info. It is competitive and all about luck now. I have tried atleast a dozen times, let's see if the stars shine on me xx

shortfinal737 17th Dec 2011 02:40

Emma-loo, the 38K figure is correct for 1st year cabin crew, then it's just over 40K for 2nd year. There's a new EBA next year so maybe it will go up slightly once that goes through. You will earn slightly more than the base with overnights and other allowances, but don't count on much more than the low 40s in your first year. Do it because you love the job, not for the money! :)

Emma-loo 17th Dec 2011 08:00

Shortfinal737 thanks for that info, I was expecting around 30k entry pay as that's what it was when I started skywest. So it's higher than that, so that's definitely a bonus! I'm definitely hoping to start flying again for the love of it not for the money but when you have a mortgage and bills to pay... You need to budget for the drop in pay.

Good luck to all going to the AD next week!

Had anyone here applied for SYD base and received any communication?

Ozzyflyer1990 18th Dec 2011 08:53

Application

Has anyone applied for BNE base and heard i've applied a month ago now... Freaking out!!

Dicko17 18th Dec 2011 13:36

I originally applied for SYD base 6 weeks ago on old system, withdrew that application and applied for MEL last week, the next day a recruitment officer filled out a SYD application for me on the old system, i called them to ask and they said it was nothing to worry about, that they were organising people from the old system for the final round of assesment some time next month, then the next day i got a email from them saying i would be contacted in the next few weeks in regards to my application. im so confused, i dont know if its worth the bother any more they just seem to be messing us around...:ugh:

It must be very stressfull for you not hearing anything? Would be annoying. Must say is is very unprofessional of them to keep people waiting. I know that they would have heaps of applications but surely there must be a better way of organisation. Be strong you will get the position and I will be joing them next time.

Have a great Christmas

Hope89 19th Dec 2011 01:45

Same here guys, haven't heard a thing and yes it is very frustrating. It's just one big mess at the moment with the websites. Goodluck Dicko17, and Marly I have full faith that you will :)

BNE Base

Hi,

A also applied for BNE base in Nov and have not heard anything. Do not expect to hear until after Christmas.

hb78 19th Dec 2011 04:02

be calm

I hate to say it guys but I think you are all panicking about nothing. They are running the new and old websites concurrently, you haven't been forgotten. To those of you complaining about the wait, please bear in mind that Virgin has been pretty quick with these rounds of recruitment. In the past with many airlines I applied with I have waited months to hear anything! I know it's hard but you need to go on with your lives and hope for the best. It will happen eventually and when it does you will love every moment.

court_k 20th Dec 2011 01:05

Hi all,

Seems as if the recruitment for MEL base is well underway.

Do you think I am too late to chuck in an application today?

Good luck to you all :)

Hope89 20th Dec 2011 09:11

Hey Court k,

Not too late at all :) It is all taking a while and many of us haven't even heard since applying about 7 weeks ago. So go for it! :ok: Good luck

OMG have you not heard from them, it must be killing you.
It would be so frustrating
As they say no news is good news

I wish you would hear something
