Dear FlyingSushi

My God...you finished interview on that day?

I have received email on 04 April saying that "Kindly await our next email regarding the date and venue of our next recruitment in Dubai." from an official email address from Qatar Airways...

I knew that candidates were supporsed to receive the call from them after CV submission if successful. However, I was amazed n simply believe that I need to wait as they mention...

I will contact them directly tomorrow..Isn't it sad if they would say "an error"...? sigh.

Thanks

Dear FlyingSushi

Thank you very much for your information.

Am sad to understand that I was totally deceived by email from [email protected]...Never realized that it was part of "Unauthorised Advertisement" process..

I should have believed that I was supposed to receive a call (I knew it...),not by email. I didn't doubt at all. I even tried to learn what's the discussion was like...

Now I learnt there's somebody who's playing pple with evil-minded for their fun. Sigh...very sad.

Hello everybody!!!

First of all I want to congratulate everyone who's departing to Doha soon!

Now, I'm writing to kindly ask you how does the Open Day work, since QR is coming to Arg on May 29th and I'm definetely going.
Last year I went to an Emirates Assesement Day and make it to de FI, but unfortunately I got a rejection e-mail. Anyways, for that AD I had to do somethings with an appointed agency and then got shortlisted for the AD.

So again, I'd like to know how does de Open Day work?

Hope this time making it and getting this job that I want so muuuch!

Greets!

Hello everybody!

I'm doing my exams and my option was for the Long Term. I think I read here that if your option is for the Long Term, you don't have to do any exams in Doha. However, in the e-mail I received says that " Kindly note that irrespective of you opting for any medicals, you will have to go through the complete detailed medicals here in Doha.". So, I would like to now if anyone nows what are the exams we are going through in Doha.

Thank you

Hi there!

Just to let you know, they prefer a blue background with your photos and make sure you wear a suit and skirt that is knee length. They will not accept photos with your hands clasp together so make sure they are relaxed on your side. Oh and this goes the same with passport photos too. With blue background and smiling. If you are a girl, make sure your hair is tied back and light make-up. Nothing too heavy.

Hope this helps!

God bless

I think with makeup they want to see your natural look, nothing too heavy that looks like you have heavy foundation on and crazy hick eyeshadows and such. Im a guy, so I'll let you choose your make-up haha. But that's just my tip for you though. When I attended an OD (which I was unsuccessful) they they like guys with little hair product and females with not too heavy make up.

Good luck though! Im sure you will do well to impress them

God bless

Hi airbuschic

Just be yourself. Thats the only best way to impress them. You can actually ask questions (but not too many, I recommend 2) about working with Qatar and about Doha. This shows you are interested in working with the company. If they ask you guys questions, dont be afraid to answer, it already shows you have initiative. Just do your research on Qatar through their website. They will definitely ask questions like "who is the ceo".

Good luck!

God bless

ODs

I'm sure you will get some answers.

Beside that: kindly read back in this topic, you will find many useful tips , necessary photos, grooming tips, stories about ODs. You will need 2-3 hours to go through this topic and find the information you need. Save some on your computer to prepare.

More tips: google cabin crew/flight attendant/qatar cabin crew blogs etc.

Change your attitude for the Big Day: you're good, they will love you and you will make it. Be positive!

just a story

I would like to share a story about a final interview. (I read it on another forum, in my mother tongue.) I found the story quite funny.

One of the girls (from my home country) made it to the FI with Qatar.

During the FI the recuriter asked her: What will you miss when your are in Doha? Answer from the girl: Alcohol!

In addition, she mentioned that she would also miss "sleeping with my boy-friend every day". (In my mother tongue it means sleeping, really. In English...)

Do you think she gave "right" answers?

(I didn't mean to be offensive but I found this story really funny... A bit of IQ is needed to pass the final interview...)

That is just way too funny that I'm even shocked that girl would mention that! I agree, she needs a shot of common sense into her brain haha

Post please advice !

hello everyone!

first, good luck to those waiting on the final confirmation
my fingers are crossed for you

I'm looking for some advice... could you please help?
There is going to be an OD for Qatar Airways in Argentina, since I'm not from Argentina I will have to pay (tickets, meals, hotel) to go.
Do you think it is worth it?

Considering that they have come to my country in the past, plus I have already gotten to the AD and got cut off right on the final activity.

kindly advice

Mari, dream_to_fly

guys you might like this aswell:

a friend of mine has tried 3 times for Emirates and finally made it to Final Interview just before the big recruitment freeze last year, an Australian guy who had worked for Qantas Domestic and longed to live in DXB and be part of the Emirates team. He was so nervous for his Final Interview which took place in Brisbane, when the recruiters asked him, "What are your main concerns about moving to Dubai?" he replies, "Well, I suppose all the Arabs..."

What he was TRYING to say was that he didn't speak Arabic, and would like to learn a few handy phrases before he left to help him. He said the interview concluded pretty swiftly after that and he received the inevitable just 2 weeks later: "It is with considerable regret that I have to inform you that you application has been unsuccessful"

Anyway, as it seems to always go in the airline industry, perserverance really does pay off. He attended another AD while on holiday in Dubai last year and started his training in January 2010 with Emirates... I guess practice makes perfect!
