you cannot offend any person that doesn't agree with you! you have to respect people! shame on you!
maria2009 described her experience and i understand her because i have passed through the same situation!
on the other hand Mari was so helpful by giving her comment, and if you read her posts you would see that she is so helpful to people in this forum! in contrast to you! you cannot judge on people like this! shame on you again!
mari thank you for giving such a detailed post.

marie2009, yes i am doing my medicals at the moment. i am almost done, though, i just need to do the dental thing.
if you have any trouble, just send me a msg. when is your doj?

god bless you

MEDICAL

Wow so I went to my Doctors office and my medical is going to take me forever ( Longer Term ). I wish I picked the short one. Today I did the basics of the medical, tomorrow chest xrays, friday eye doctors, monday blood work, tuesday hearing test. BOY OH BOY this is a long process, but worth every bit. Good luck to everyone. Also those of you who are in the same boat as me, dont worry we will be flying in no time.

CHARMIVAN: we do get tested to see if we have hepatitis A B & C. You said everything is fine though, im not sure of the process you would go at then. Talk to your doctor, im sure everything will be fine. Good Luck

Oh teefly,thank you so much!
i asked my doctor,he said that passive HBV carrier is just healthy,no contagious.in my country passive HBV carrier is not limited to work in special work fields, they are even not allowed to ask, however i heard that in UAE it's very strict about that,it's a pity.
any way thank you,i may try diffirent airlines.
regard.

Hello everyone, another wanna-be here

I'm about to attend the open day held in Riga on 1st of May. However, I'm struggling with whether or not I should be doing it now, because I have some busy month coming up..
So, here's a few questions I came up with (didn't have the heart to read through ALL the pages):
- How long does it take to get past the last interview? (I live 100 km from Riga so traveling there & back every other day would not be nice)
- How long after you've passed the final interview the date of departure is set? I have an exam on 4th of June, and I couldn't possibly leave any earlier than 5th. But I guess if the medical takes so long to process, maybe it's alright with the time??

Actually, I have no idea, I only came up with the idea of becoming a cabin crew a week ago, and then this advert showed up at the newspapers, so I thought - why not since I'm totally in love with flying

An OD usually takes 3 days. I have attended Qatar's OD before and it goes like this

1st day: It's basically and induction day where the recruiters will meet you and give you information on the airline and the country. The discussion will include the living lifestyle, airline's history and so forth. Make sure ask questions and even answer some question they answer because it shows that you are interested and is ready to commit to the company! And it shows you have done your research as well so do go to the Qatar's site and read as much as you can. After the induction, they will ask you to come up one by one to hand in your CV. When you hand in your CV they will ask you 1 or 2 question about you. ie, "where are you working now" or "What is your background?". You will have about 30-45 seconds to impress them. Just make sure you smile and stay calm. If you are successful, they will call you and will ask you to attend the group stage which will usually take place the very next day.

2nd day: This is the group stage. You will be placed in a group and the recruiters will assess you how well you interact with others and how well you can contribute as a team. Make sure you do not control the group's discussion but rather, contribute to the task given. This is the stage where they will assess your height. You will need to be able to reach 212cm with your hand stretched up. And should you be successful, they will then ask and invite you to the FI. It will either be the next day, or the day after.

3rd day: Final interview. Self explanatory. And by this stage and if you make it, good luck!

The waiting game begins. With Qatar it can take between 3-5 weeks until you will be contacted.

Hope this helps!

(regarding medicals and such, I will let Qatar explain it to you).

God bless!

Thank you so much, you're a life savior!

One last thing tho - i read something about "wrong pictures" so I have a question regarding them - it's clear how to do the passport-kind ones, but the full length apparently has some main guidelines to be followed?
Sorry for the silly questions

for the photos you will need to provide a full length photo with a preferred blue background and in business attire. No hands holding/clasping together, hands straight on the side. Make sure your hair (if you are a girl) pulled back tightly and if you are a guy, make sure it is neat. Of course, put on your friendly smile . Same as passport photos, blue background is preferred as well. Dont worry if dont like your photos, because if you make it through to the final interview they will give you an email for you to submit the photos.

Good luck and wish you all the best! Hopefully one day we'll be able to fly together!

God bless and will be praying for you!

Exclamation Hi all

Good day, everyone.
Has anyone attended the open day in Dubai on 2 April?

Received message on 04 April that I was short-listed, but been waiting for further instctn for 3weeks...Is it so-called "waiting game"???

Some say QR recruitment process is so slow...so will be waiting up to 2 May (1 month) then!

Don't worry, males process is much longer than females process. If something's wrong in your report, you will have been noticed for sure. So if there are no fatidic mail saying you are not accepted by the company, just wait untill they come in contact with you for the medicals.

Regards.

Yeah, I've read posts on this saying that they recruit less men and therefore there is less training for men! I'm supposed to be starting my training on Monday! Though I was told I would receive my e ticket and visa today and I havent! Its so last minute!
