hey help needed

Again as previously asked on BMI thread, what are the things they look for on the applications and what sorta things do they want to see in application forms. I am completely new and want to get into cabin crew and have applied to a few other airlines but only rejections so far so trying to learn the tricks of the trade as it were! Also is it essential to go to open days? if so when is the next one at Luton???

Thanks
Ben

Hi,
Wifey has an assessment day coming up soon and was wondering what the basic salary would be during training, probation etc...
She has a lot of flying experience and was wondering how long it would be before you can go for SCCM?

Grateful for any info

Hello

I don't have time to go onto the easyJet web site right now, but if you go onto the easyJet web site and look at the recruitment section it will tell you the starting salary for cabin crew. To work out the basic salary during training just divide the starting salary by 12 - this will give you one months basic salary and your question will be answered.

With regards to probation, she will need to ask at the assessment day as things have changed completely from when I joined several years ago, Unless the information is readily available on the recruitment section of the easyJet web site.

With regards to going to SCCM your wife will need to be made permanent before hand as easyJet only recruit on fixed term contracts nowadays. She might be lucky to find on the assessment day that we are recruiting direct entry seniors - if we are and she has the necessary experience (i.e. a minimum of one years flying experience which I believe has to be within the last 24 months) then she can try to progress her application along that route. If there are no direct entry senior positions at this time she will need to make sure that she performs really well during her initial fixed term contract period so that she impresses management and gets taken on permanent.

Make sure wifey reads the full easyJet recruitment section on easyJet.com before attending the assessment day as a lot of her questions might be answered from reading the web site. Also, tell her to have a look at http://www.easyjetcareers.com/

EasyJet Salary

Hi all,

I was just wondering whether anyone could possibly shed some light on to the pay scales of easyjet cabin crew in the UK, plus additional factors such as sector pay, overnight stops and sales etc. The career sounds exciting and I am very interested but the easyjet website doesnt actually starte figures.....If it is variable with regards to the pay, would it be possible to estimate for me, so I can gather as much information about the position as possible.

Thank you :-)

Hi, Main crew can look to get around £1400 after tax on an average month. This factors in flight pay, and commissions.

During training etc your pay will be poor, and while you are not flying the pay will obviously reflect.

Easyjet Concessions

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I live in Portugal but work for an airline based out of the UK. I travel back home to Portugal about 4 times a month with Easyjet but the prices are getting so expensive that I cant afford to go back more than twice a month.

Does anyone have a spare concession that they could put me on - I will pay this person extra money for every flight that I do on top of the cost of the concession flight because it would still work out cheaper for me.

If anyone can help me out please PM me...

Thanks xx

This thread is titled "easyJet - Wannabees & Recruitment II" and is for asking questions relating to joining easyJet as crew. It is not for trying to blag an existing crew members travel concessions.

Applying for easyJet (Height/weight proportion)

First question, is this done by looking at you BMI?
Currently applying for easyJet, but was alarmed to find out that my weight is slightly over what it should of been for someone my height. Visually I don't look particularly overweight, I have a slight beer belly shall we say and thats it, but even then its not that bad. I want to know what airlines are like in this case, is it down to what you look like visually or is it down to what you look like on paper? starting to get a bit worried now, anyway I'm off to the gym!

You will be fine, I fly with many a beer hungry gent! they don't calculate your b.m.i, so long as you can fit through the door and strap into a crew seat your golden.

easyJet are a very good airline for taking people on because of who they are, not what they look like!

Apply, you will be fine!

easyjet

i'vw been flying with easyjet for the past year and a half, and there are loads of overweight crew, both male and female, who look evidently overweight!!

so if your only problem is that your BMI is high but you look like an average everyday person then you have nothing to worry about.

As the last poster said, EasyJet are very good at not descriminating against peoples looks, therefore you get a very thouroughly mixed bag of people, which ultimatley makes EasyJet a great place to work

Even though i have just left i have only left to go work for Emirates, if it wasn't for that i wouldn't think about leaving EasyJet.

Good luck, Hope you get it, remember EasyJet = EasyMoney = EasyLife!!

Have Fun

Thanks for the help, my applications gone now, there arent any vacancies at Newcastle at the moment so can anyone tell me what the procedure is here? Will they pass my on my application then throw me in a holding pool? Or is it a case of waiting for a potential 6 months hearing nothing at all?
I really do have my fingers crossed, would really like to get this job.

newcastle

It's very rare that they do recruit for newcastle or so i have heard.

They will prob ask you to pick another base to start with then you'll have to go on the transfer list and wait to transfer to newcastle.

NCL has been overcrewed for ages and there is a waiting list for existing crew elsewhere seeking a transfer to the base so it is extremely unlikely if they will be recruiting for ages. Things may change when they get the Airbus.

Hey, can anyone tell me what the work patterns are? Is it 5 on 2 off? 4 on 3 off. Or 2 on, 1off, 3 on, 1 off (i.e. whatever!).

Thanks in advance :-)

I was just wondering how do the overnights work with Easyjet or if they happen at all.

Im from Australia and have found out that apparently Easyjet recruit here in Sydney for Cabin Crew under a UK Work Visa that's valid for two years.

Hopefully thats true cos i reckon that it would be a working holiday to remember - beats working in pubs and whatnot.

any help would be appreciated, thanks!
