Hey Guys!
I've been to the open day in Galway Dec 4th. I'm still waiting for the golden call. I'm freaking out!!! I'm waiting for 4 weeks now.
During the interview I told them that I couldn't send my college certificate. I lost it before I come to Ireland. And that my family (in Brazil, I am Brazilian leaving in Ireland for a year) is going to order a new one, but it takes a while to be ready.
The interviewer said that was ok, but that is mandatory to bring it to Dubai. I told that it would be ready by that time.
And here I am, wondering if they are still waiting for my certificate to call me or not. What do you guys think? Should I call them and ask?

I know re the packing. I'll be back in Sydney for 2 weeks only then im going to have to try and get sorted. will probably end up throwing away half of my room! hehe Wish my new TV could go though

yes it kinda was! i also managed to have a 34 hour xmas by flying from australia to south africa! hehe
Chino I would definately call Ek and find out whats going on. Its unfair putting your life on hold. Do they have all the required paperwork from you?

Back from Hong Kong, no call on my mobile specially rented to take it with me on the trip.
My roommate said that there was a call unidentified at home on 24th afternoon - he wasn't at home and Mr(s) Misterious didn't leave a voice message.
I'm in the same situation of sfjana. I told them at the FI (Osaka Nov 28th) that I was able to provide my high school certificate only in January and the interviewer said it was ok and that I would hear back from them after 3 weeks. And I'm also Brazilian living in overseas
Anyhow, I just sent the casual & ppt pics last week (arrived in DXB around 16 or 17th), but I'm confused because I tried to acess my cabin crew application on Emirates Careers website by checking the option Uptade/Complete your Cabin Crew Application and guess what? The site displays "You cannot update your status now. You can do it after your acceptance of our offer"
Does it means I passed the FI?
If Santa didn't make it in time to Christmas, I wouldn't mind getting my present in my birthday (January 8th) though.

hi there, did u provide your Ek refernce no. on your FI? is it necessary to submit an application through internet as well? i had mine but i didnt provide it on FI. should i update it?

I didnt provide my EK reference no in the FI, I was asked to bring 2 casual photos, 6 ppt photos, one full lenght photo in business atire (on the picture I brought to the first screening I had my legs crossed, thats why they requested new pictures) and my high school diploma.
I was just curious if I really didn't mistyped my phone numbers so I tried to check my online application and got that message.

oh same here on FI. i had started the application before the FI but i didnt have time to finish it so i didnt provide the EK ref no. to them. now i just updated and submitted my application. my story here is i found out from the agency that works with emirates that im not on the list of who are selected. my friend got the NO email already and nothing from me...yet. its been 4 weeks for me now.
i hope they're considering coz they wont make u wait for long if they dont want u. my plan is if i dont hear from them after 6 weeks, i'll call them. good luck to U! i hope u get the call soon

depends if they want to tell you. u can ask them but they will ask u how did u know about the list. im not on the list but no email from emirates. its weird...if it is a NO then they can just send me the email and not make me wait. i have a small chance and still hoping tho

A day off is one that is taken on ground in DXB without any duty whatsoever between 0001 hrs and 2359 hrs. So a 24 hr layover is not considered a day off.
When you operate a flight out of DXB you are expected to operate the flight back. You can't chop up your roster and not take days off simply to stay at destination longer. If that were the case it would leave some flights over-staffed and other flights understaffed, an absolute headache for scheduling.

As far as I know we deal with Emirates people only. At least in Galway. Am I wrong?

Hey I was at the Galway open day, it's been 4 weeks today since I had my final interview and still no word, been trying not to think about it but that doesn't happen sure! I just want to know now, the patience is wearing off haha.

This is so weird. We were just a few. During my interview she told me that I would hear from them in 4 weeks, and nothing yet. I know that they are crazy busy and everything, but is so hard.

Hey guys, it will be 6 weeks for me in two days so I plan on calling if I don't hear but then.
I recently watched a movie called the secret after hearing about it from an awesome Brazilian girl in the same shoes as me and most of us. I would highly advise anyone to see it or read the book if you haven't already. Especially those waiting for the call. I changed my outlook and it keeps me positive everyday. It even helped me keep my mind off wondering so muh about what was going to happen with EK and doing this to myself
I HIGHLY Reommend it. I wish everyone a very happy new year!
