Canadianboy23: I had the same problem. The thing is the time difference. I you are in TO...call after midnight or before 8 in the morning....I would call at night around midnight to 1 am...because they are 9 hours ahead of us and they are open during office hours I believe

Hi everyone,
I have been reading this thread for a while. Nice to see many others are in the same boat as I am!
I attended the Wellington New Zealand open day in November and made it to the final interview. I'm in my 5th week of waiting to hear something now.

Hi everyone
Got my ass in first week of Jan here in London! Been reading everyones great posts, and they are such a big help. I now know what kind of things to expect.
My main aim for the day is to go in, give it my best shot, and to meet some great people and just have a great day. If I get through I will be happy, if i dont, I wont kill myself over it, for sure!
Its the first time I am going for a CC interview.
P.S I am a male, and will wear a suit, not to sure what colour shirt though? I thought of white? or Pink?? hmmm

I would give them a call when its bang on 6 weeks. You have done your time then and they cant be funny about you calling early...
I actually have to wait 7 weeks because I sent my pictures and school certificates in a week after my final interview so I think its 6 weeks from that point.
Its so difficult because the longer you wait the more excited and the more you end up wanting it!!! Really...it's just cruel!!!
Just keep me posted on what you do or hear....you never know we might end up having the same DOJ!!! Obviously Im looking on the bright side here!!

i found out from an agency who worked for emirates that im not on the list of who are selected. i told them i didnt get a NO email from them yet and told me to wait coz their busy. my friend who i went with for the FI got the email already last week. im confused i didnt hear anything from emirates yet. maybe they will email me after 6 weeks...i hope they are considering tho! i need the job so bad

Sorry to hear about this! I find it somewhat strange that it takes them so long to get back to you with the results Your file was complete at the time of the final interview, right?

I have another friend who went to the FI in Osaka on November 28th as well and she got her NO today.

I hope you are having nice time in Hong Kong. So, you have not heard from EK as of today? Well, this may be a good sign. Two of my friends got their calls already, and another girl got her NO email last Wednesday, on the same day when I did mine. She was really devastated, but for me it was not that bad (I am still waiting for my "Oh my God, I failed"-moment to come (if it ever will...). I am not taking it way too seriously. They did not want me - its their choice and their decision. And while I do not necessarily like it, I respect it and will give THEM another chance to hire me next year (provided nothing better comes along by then).
Have a great time in HK and catch up with you later...

Honestly just keep waiting and keep positive.....I dont think there is any logic to it. Why would they keep all the NO's waiting till the 6th week....it would be easier to do a mass email and get it over with. I think its just down to when they get round to your file.
I think its slightly different procedures in different countries but I had my open day and final interview in Glasgow and then was asked to send professional pictures and schooling certificates to an address in London and from there they would be sent off to Dubai. All the forms i filled in and everything that went into my file had no details on it to say i had attended the open day in Glasgow UK so I dont think they look at everyones in order. They all get mixed together....people from UK, New York, Manilla and so on........So I dont think it really matters if you wait 2 weeks or 8 weeks and whether it means you get a YES or a NO.
At the end of the day you are either right or wrong for the job.....of course we are all hoping we are right for the job!!!!

after 18 hours is my interview???
i just came to dubai and got a letter with invitation at the preliminary interview 24th at 7.30 am...it means tomorrow...
i planed to have at least 1 day rest after 20 hours trip...now trying to collect my thoughts
...and to read smth usefull here

Hello everyone.
I received the email after the golden call. We are supposed to fill up the online joiners form. However, I was stuck at the Visa details because we do not have the information! Resulted in the insufficient info to complete the whole form.

Finally in Dubai...for you guys waiting, you wont beleive how busy EK is ! Makes sense why we only get calls from them when its really necessary for them ! Patience. The group before me had 75 new joiners and mine 70, so just imagine the work that goes into organising this...
I am in temporary accomodation and so are a lot of new joiners, hotel-appartements very big and comfy ! Internet is a drag

Ok here we go..
I finally got the last confirmation email from emirates telling me to resign from my current employer!!! DOJ is now on the 30'th Jan
So happy that is all sorted...I can fly back to south africa tomorrow without any stress...
Montreal you better show me everything when I get there!!!

Yes!!! I got my golden call!! How is that for the best Christmas present ever!! My DOJ is the 13th February!!! So I wont even get to spend Valentines day with my boyfriend.....Boo! But I will get over it.
The guy who called me advised they had a massive backlog of calls to be made and sorry for making me wait so long (I waited about 5 weeks). So dont worry everyone who is waiting.....your calls are coming!!!
