Thanks Soube...

I do hope its soon, I have a job at Emirates starting in late March, but would prefer to stay at home and with an airline that I have worked for previously

I am already crew at BA on on WW.

In a chat with my manager I was told BA are to recruit 1000 new crew in the next year. This will be for both Heathrow and Gatwick.

For those of you interested get those C.V.'s ready.

I had an assessment yesterday afternoon in the morning, and I haven't heard anything yet....so I guess that means I didn't get it then if everyone who was successful has already heard! Oh well...that's life I suppose....

Fantastic news over the last few days. All redeployed ground staff from the regions have been offered permanent contracts with the airline on WW.

Angel Pay down route

Hey there,

Can anyone please tell me how money works down route? when i was with Virgin Atlantic, we recieved an envelope at our hotel with money in... does this happen at BA? or does it get paid directly into our bank account?

Sorry for all the questions

Thank you in advance

Hey

I know what you mean I have been told that you need to have some knowledge of the airport codes just try and get to grips with the ones on the routes that we would be flying but the main things that we need to learrn is the Bars & Documentation and the Brands and I have read that the airport codes come with time!!

yes, indeed ALL of the redeployed regional groundstaff who were initially on 11 month temporary contracts on both WW LHR and the small number on EF LHR have now been offered permanent positions within cabin crew on whichever fleet they are on.

AND DESERVEDLY SO.

those of us with experience in this airline always knew that it was inevitable that this would happen.

thankfully, our trade unions throughout the airline managed MANY moons ago to negotiate a redeployment agreement for all staff.
it has been used in this self-same way many, many times previously. this is that agreement in action once again.

now hopefully they will be looking forward to stability in their lives once again.

as for the rest of the temporary crew who are just joining the airline, i really do hope that you finally end up where you want to be.
it may take some time to get to there, but if you stick it out you'll be rewarded.

GOOD LUCK!

.

You get a company credit card which gets deducted each month. Not sure if your allowances go on the card on in your pay but whichever way it is the cash allowances in the hotel have gone.

Just to make it clear, it is not a credit card. It's a crew card which can only be used at travelex or in the hotel you are staying at to withdraw the money in advance of your salary. The total amount you have withdrawn on the card is then deducted from your salary each month and there is a limit of 300.00 gbp per month. I would advise all new crew to be very careful as it's easy for the total to mount up and you end up in a vicious circle with having to use the card to make up the money you have lost in your salary each month. Misuse of the card will also result in it being taken away. We did used to have Diners cards but people were running up huge bills and being unable to pay them back hence the new system being brought into effect.

there is a limit of 300.00 gbp per month.
I think you are able to limit it but as far as I am aware you can not exceed the limit of your allowances for the month.

also

I think there is a limit of GBP75.00 or GBP100.00 a day.

I stand to be corrected though.
