newman,

Hopefully you will have found something by now but you can expect to pay around £100 per week for a shared house/flat. If you haven't got anything by the time you start training, go straight into Compass and put a note on the board.

All the best.

G-MEDA ... am in the same boat as you at the moment. As I said before, I know people on 18th and 19th assessments have already been given start dates. Have no idea how they're working it as in the email it said dates will be given strictly in order of interview!

Called earlier today and when I asked for an approximate time I'd get a call about starting I was told it's hard to say, probably a month or two Different people have been told different things so just getting really confused now

BA are recruiting again for temporary WW LHR. They're still recruiting for LGW and EF LHR. I can't remember the last time they were recruiting for these three at the same time.

EF

Dont think you new EF recruits will have to wait as long as we did. But then be prepared as things change so quickly. Whatever how long, its worth the wait.

That's right, the email said strictly in interview order, which is not what's happening apparently....
The wait is not as long as people who got the job in april/may last year as someone said here. I applied in april last year, but then my july interview was cancelled and had to wait til feb! Hope my course won't be until July/August really as I need to sort out the big move!!

They won't forget about anyone though...

Assessent Day Slots Full?

Hey everyone,

I applied for the BA Gatwick Fleet (Cabin Crew) position earlier this week, and received an email just now inviting me to an assessment day! *yay!*

I went to the BA Careers website to pick a slot for my interview - but it says they're all full...
Does anybody know if they will be releasing new slots? If so - how far ahead to they schedule the assessment days? (I'm an Australian applicant - so dates with more than a couple of days notice would be much preferred!)

Another concern of mine: all applicants are required to bring things like passport photos, passport (in my case, I have 2 - EU & Australian), but also proof of identification (such as utility or credit card bills) - do they need to be UK/EU proofs, or do you think Australian ones would suffice? Also, being Australian, I have no "National Insurance Number", which is also a requirement for the day...

Has anybody applied for BA from a non-UK country, and could maybe answer these questions? Any help would be much appreciated!

- Dorian

Unless you are absolutley huge, you will have no trouble with the crew harness.

Don't worry about it!

Bronni I have seen some female crew that are a size 20 get into the crew harness without any problems so don't worry.

Just a random question... the pack i got in the post with my contract says i need to wear flat shoes for SEP, does that mean flat shoes as in the ones i'll wear in the cabin, or does that mean any flat shoes you want to wear (within smart/casual rules obviously).

Also, i'm having trouble finding some cabin shoes (loafer style ones), does anyone know of anywhere i can get hold of some, or can i buy some from uniform stores when i start training?

Shoes

Girls or boys are allowed to wear trainers and jeans during SEP. No holes or gadgets though in your jeans. You will have a lot of practicals so anything you feel comfortable in but within nice and casual look. But I would say on your first day of SEP dont wear jeans or trainers and wait for them to tell you that you can do so. Shorts/leggings and tshirts for wet drills for both girls and boys.
