I used Dauntless Safelog for a few years. Not bad, bit clunky but some good features.
Recently switched to Foreflight. Much simpler.

I use My Pilot Log. A new one and has both apps and web version. Also really cheap.

Buyer Beware

Like many others I bought a “Lifetime” subscription for MCC PILOT LOG. After less than 4 years of imports the programme is now completely useless and I am unable to download or import any past or future flights. The lifetime subscription was a complete scam and there will be other users whose “lifetime” subscription was significantly shorter than mine.

MCC highlights that the “lifetime” subscription is for the license only. The only problem is that the license is now linked to a completely useless piece of logbook software. That is very sharp practice and I would consider it a scam. I and many others paid for a lifetime “license” subscription to a piece of software that the developer new they were eventually going to leave unsupported causing it to be become useless for the purpose it was bought.

I have attempted to resolve the issue with MCC Crew Connect and after several emails they finally admitted that MCC PILOT LOG was no longer able to download or import data. I now have a “lifetime” subscription to a useless piece of logbook software.

MCC help desk stated that I had “Grandfather rights” to their new software. This initially sounded promising but it quickly became apparent that these “Grandfather rights” required another upfront payment of 3 years subscriptions...... what a rip off!!

I would strongly advise anybody looking for a long term logbook program to do their home work and avoid Crew Connect/lounge.

If I hear anything else I will update you, but don’t hold your breath.

why don't you use simply Airline FlightLog ? It's free ;)

I have tried that one but personally for me it has way too much clutter and too many options haha

Excel pilot logbook does the trick, simple easy to use and one off payment.
Doesn't have the fancy bells and whistles of something like Logten Pro however but does the job

For those lucky enough to be under a CAA that accept digital logbook but printed, is the electronic signature printed enough or are you required to sign every page by pen?

If you are referring to the UK CAA, you are required to sign every page unfortunately.
Each page must include a running total, and there must be a cover page stating your name also.

It's still unclear whether an electronic signature on the pdf once printed is valid. I guess signing it by paper would make sense. And just copies would suffice. Never sent my original logbook. Only copies.

The CAA recently accepted an electronically signed PDF (at the bottom of every page) of my logbook for ATPL issue. It was also emailed to them.

Signing PDFs on a Mac is nice and easy using the annotate function in Preview.app.

LogTen Pro is my weapon of choice. Can't recommend it enough.

Thanks to CrewLounge PilotLog I’ve reverted to pen and paper.
I use an Excel Spreadsheet to keep a record which I eventually transfer to my permanent Logbook.

I’ll never use LogTen Pro because, to me, no digital Logbook is worth the amount you’d pay in Sub fees over a career.

Logbooks aren’t complicated, and MccPilotLog was a fantastic piece of software with a one time purchase cost. When I first started using it some 10 years ago (give or take) I had a few issues with hours printing in the wrong columns of my Countries format. They were actually able to understand the problems and subsequently resolve them in a timely manner.

CrewLounge Support is non-existent. Multiple emails back and forward with them (over weeks, even months at their reply rate) got my no where… and that was just trying to resolve the same format issues that had been resolved previously in MCC!
The list of issues I have with PilotLog are extensive, and echo what previous posters have already mentioned.

My import of MCC data had many issues with remarks/comments. As my MCC Logbook had been printed (and backed up in PDF format), I started a new Logbook in PilotLog utilising the past experience function.

My Current Airline roster imports fine, but any attempt to import historic data (to get actual flight times and Aircraft rego’s) just downloads my current roster from the current date forward. So I input that data manually.

But the deal breaker, is I cannot print to my local format (required) as it places hours in the wrong columns for certain tasks.

2 years of support tickets and nothing.

I should of demanded a refund immediately, but instead, gave them the time they so desperately asked for to resolve the bugs. They’d resolved my issues with MCC so surely they can do it again right? Might just take a while longer due to the migration process. Sucker.

While some users claim to have had no issue with this Software, can you really trust a company who can’t (won’t) get a number to print one column to the right in 2 years?

While I hear good things about LogTen, they too could end up as another MCCPilotLog in due course, and how much are they costing you per year?
It seems to be all too common theses days. Companies get greedy and simply “re-brand” to extract more cash through premium features which were included in the original version.

Have you looked at SafeLog? I've been using it for years and while not perfect it's really not bad.

I used to have mccPilotLog and now I have a lifetime license of CrewLounge PILOTLOG. While the transition has not been buttery smooth, I am quite happy now with it.

On the contrary to ElZicho's experience, CrewLounge's tech support so far has been one of the best I've ever experienced. They strive to get back to queries in 2 days and over the past year they've been very proactive at improving the app and correct bugs I and others reported. At the moment the support is not available because they've been severely impacted by Typhoon Rai in the Philippines.

Works flawlessly with EASA format.

Used Skylog Pro, for as long as I can remember. One off fee, no repeat fees. Good service when I needed it .

Is Skylog Pro still getting updates? Is it accepted by EASA?

I suspect the varying experiences in migrating from one Software to the other comes down to the different operating environments and Logbook formats.
If your MCC Database was mostly RPT, Sector Logged from A-B, then you've likely had a smooth migration.
If however, some/all of your flying in MCC was Logged without Dep/Arr fields (as it allowed) and instead was Route logged via the Remarks section, then you were in for a bad time.... and I had a lot of Survey/Charter work logged like that in MCC. This might seem strange to some, depending on your local logbook format, but mine simply has a "Flight Details" column. It could read LAX - LHR or it could have the name of the Farm which had a paddock long enough to be called a "Runway".

When I migrated from MCC to PilotLog, almost all of my non-Airline flying got totally corrupted. Support told me they couldn't fix it and suggested I start PilotLog fresh utilizing the Previous Experience function which I did.
I then started having various other issues (as per my previous post) so gave up and walked away.
The whole process was an eye opener for me in just how easily a digital Logbook can get corrupted and did I really want to deal with this every time a new Version gets rolled out.

A few Colleagues use LogTen pro and absolutely rave about... suppose it's true, you do get what you pay for, but I've just fallen back to pen and paper.

Years later and I see Crew Lounge is still not worth it. I had MCC PilotLog for many years before the change over to CrewLounge. After spending days and hours trying to fix the bugs fixable, I switched over to LogTen Pro. I never wanted to as I did not want to pay a subscription for my logbook. I can again confirm that it has been more than worth it.

ilI would recommend that people do not waste their time.

It’s free to use the logbook and has some other features like roster import and METARs etc. I imported my logbook from the over priced LogTen Pro.
