Just had an email through from mccPILOTLOG that they are discontinuing their "grandfathering program", on the 24th November, one day before their Black Friday sale.
The old mccPILOTLOG software is running fine for me - but they say the cloud server running it is having frequent outages and will only remain alive as long as technically possible.
Is it worth the upgrade to the new CrewLounge PILOTLOG, what do you guys think?
I read that there were teething issues with the new rendition but that they might've been ironed out now?

I'm in the same boat.
For what it's worth their website has a different date than the email we all received:

The grandfathering program will terminate 30 NOV 2022. After this date, you can no longer transfer your lifetime license from mccPILOTLOG to CrewLounge PILOTLOG! The mccPILOTLOG software continues to run and your lifetime license for mccPILOTLOG remains valid, but the grandfathering program is terminated!

Exporting from LogTen was a pain and required manual clean up of the CSV file to have everything imported properly, despite exporting in supposedly the correct format according to Crewlounge FAQ. But coming directly from mccPilotlog should be straight forward I guess.
I had that email as well and since I figured that the "new" CrewLounge PILOTLOG was more mature now, I made use of my grandfathering right. Let's see for how long this "lifetime subscription" will be valid...
And, yes, the transition from mccPILOTLOG to CrewLounge PILOTLOG was really easy and worked out nicely. Just follow the given instructions to the dot.

I noticed that too - I think their original intention was for it to last until the end of the month - but they must've noticed that they were going to offer their usual Black Friday sale on the 25th November and decided not to extend this offer to the grandfathering program - hence the email. That's my guess, anyway.

Anyway, it's done now. Hopefully they don't rinse & repeat this process in 5-10 years time.
I did not see a huge difference between the two versions. The current one has a few more options to configure tables etc.. But I do agree, I did not really want to change to the new system, but I felt it was the right time to do so to avoid the subscription scheme that new users have to enter. Even if they start over in 5 to 10 years, it will have been much cheaper for us than any other subscription based logbook provider.
I switched over to the newer PILOTLOG version at a fairly early stage, have not used it much over the past two years but it has been working well for me so far. Not too many issues and the few times that I had to contact support, they were helpful. My only gripe is that it runs as a non-native app on a Mac, which means that its reponses are sometimes a bit odd when switching between applications. No big issue but something that could be improved upon.

Hello Guys,
I have started several years ago with Flylogio because it was free at that time and very easy to use with a minimalistic UI, but then they changed to a subscription plan, and just two months ago they increased their price, so currently its pretty expensive for me (Basic plan with just the logbook - 4€/annually or 5€/monthly; Premium plan with the logbook, VFR navigation & flight recording - 8€/annually or 9€/monthly). So currently I'm trying to find any other solution, platform to change and migrate my datas. I heard about LogTen Pro, which is very nice, but it's also pretty expensive for me, and of course I heard about the new software of MCC Pilotlog -> the new Crewlounge Pilotlog. Right now I'm a bit struggling to choose, which would be the best option. I heard a lot of bad stuff about Crewlounge Pilotlog, but as they improve it continuously, its getting better and better, so maybe it looks the best option for me, especially due to they have a nice roster following function.
Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Csaba

If you are not to bothered about the airline rostering then you can try My Pilot Log its multi-platform and very customizable and reasonably priced. It fairly new so they seem to continue to keep adding new features etc

Best Electronic Logbook?
Hi all,
Starting with a new airline soon and wanting to change e-logbooks. I've used CrewLounge PilotLog for a few years and whilst I love how much info you can input (and extract) from it, the user interface is old and I've had numerous problems where their support team has taken months to solve seemingly simple problems which have prevented me from using it altogether.
I'm aware that LogTen Pro seems to have the best overall reviews but it's ~3x more expensive than PilotLog and FlyLog.io which I've been recommended by a good friend. My slight concern is that FlyLog seems to be targeted toward GA more than airline, not sure how much of an issue but maybe someone has experience.
Feedback on FlyLog.io is welcomed, along with any other e-logbook providers!
Cheers!

Just heard that Crew lounge (formally MCC) has been swallowed into a larger company. I hope this isn't the precursor to losing another 'lifetime' subscription. Took a lot of pride swallowing and ignoring principles to buy a new lifetime subscription after the last change.

+1
I can't imagine they can reneague on the terms of our licence. Then again, I would've said the same thing last time - look what happened. Whatever the case may be, I'm sure we have at least a few months of runway ahead of us to see what the outcome will be.
