Business Jets India Private Ltd - Another one to avoid like the plague!

Sorry to report that there is another cowboy outfit in our midst by the name of Business Jets India Private Ltd. This is the worst one yet in my experience.

At the time of going to press they had torn up one contract and renaiged on the one they wrote themselves on various counts. They currently owe me $9,287.32

Potentially, this is also immigration fraud since the visas are issued on the basis of contracts. There is also at least one pilot out there jumping up and down for a renewal of a contract - meanwhile he is not officially an employee so his validation is not valid.

FDTLs are shamelessly ignored in favour of positioning crews on the cheap at night and then dragging them out of bed sparrow-fart.

Crew requested to perform a revenue flight with suspect/inoperative pressurisation.

Crew asked to fly without being in possession of a validation (crew can go to jail for this in india)

No FOM training provided towards the Licence validation interview (equivalent to standards audit) the crews were instructed to lie to the DGCA about this!

2 Expat crew requested to share a double bed in squalid conditions -we did not. Company subsequently gained access by fraudulent means to our private hotel rooms and took without consent our belongings.

Various other regulations too numerous to list ignored at any time it was convenient.

Total disorganisation and baltent waste of any downtime you may have attending ludicrous and long winded meetings of no interest or consequence.

Please Please do yourselves a favour, don't go near this one with a borrowed bargepole.

Unfortunately, nothing new here.
It sounds like they are just as "courteous" as alot of other operators in our industry.
Good luck getting your pay, hope you get to work for a decent operator soon!

Jesus. I only usually have to deal with outfits ending in Private from a computer thousands of miles away and I find that bad enough. Thanks for the heads up.

I was quite happy to share a bed with my copilot on a few occasions. But I drew the line at using her toothbrush.

BJets

BJets are one and the same.

They went bankrupt and have not operated for over 12 months but the operation has restarted as a subsidiary of Deccan Aviation.

There are now 2 head office addresses shown, The one placarded on the aircraft and the one on the letterhead and all correspondence; Both in Hyderabad.

Operations Control Center (not that they are ever actually in the loop in the first place) is in Bangalore and the primary operating base is in New Delhi. Lots of bad Karma and unpaid bills from the last incarnation of the company - a total mess.

Oh that was another good one, Deccan employee tried to steal about Rs 44,000 from me (about $970/£604/€706) when checking out of a hotel!

Thankfully I had another offer letter before I boarded the flight home
I've never not been paid before, This WILL get very very ugly indeed for them unless they cooperate quickly.

LOL Looks like I always get the wrong crews

Not bad

so you had a less than satisfactory experience. It depends on the individual but in my experience Bjets were not bad. sure they have a few problems starting up again but your above post is not accurate

Well my reliable sources inform me, this is totally correct and Parr for the course in that area now. TAJ Air were or still are, involved with BJETS. TAJ air used to be a good outfit but since the change of management there last year, they are no longer a good outfit IMHO. Good infrastructure but that's about it now.

Not Bad My A$$

It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that someone had a better experience than me (god knows that wouldn't be difficult) but my posts are word-perfect accurate. And theres still the small outstanding matter of my nine grand! Am I hilloucinating when I look at my bank statement too? No, I thought not.

The guy I was led to believe is some kind of accountable manager even admitted to me that they had breached the terms of my contract before I even got there - That was in the first conversation I had with him after I arrived!

Problems, yes, I'll say! Speaking to some people who were there previously it would seem that they have taken old BJets and thrown all the good parts away.

All these amateurs will achieve is realisation of the truth in the adage:
"The greatest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise and is not preceded my a period of despondency."

Nice and independent username there andy
Yes, I thought the same. I also knew all the expat crew present and the roster contained zero Andys. Well were at it look at the "I'm new here" banner and "Number of posts = 1" it becomes fairly easy to shortlist who this really is

I have also gleaned that a miracle has not been forthcoming since my departure!

TAJ Air / BJets

It would be good to have accurate and current facts.

TAJ Air still operates as an independent operation but has an association with Deccan and BJets through Powerfly. BJets is very much the junior partner.

TAJ also operate in association with Lufthansa Private Jets.

As a customer I have used both TAJ [fixed wing] and Deccan [helicopters] and the crews on both were happy with their lot!

From experience in India over 40 years, I wish you well with your claim against BJets .....

It was all somewhat smoke-and-mirrors so I'm afraid I couldn't comment with authority on any TAJ/Powerfly involvement.

BJets is using a lot of Deccan infrastructure though (or at least signing up on paper to it) The aircraft are leased etc and BJets is in effect a 'virtual airline.'

Deccan Helicopters was a different league, They had some really good facilities at Bangalore and on the face of it I don't doubt the crews there probably are quite happy.

BJets new incarnation is a totally different story. Nothing short of an accident waiting to happen.

With reference to my 'claim' Thanks! it has already occurred to me that there is more than one legitimate way to approach that!

If you claim is true and I certainly have no doubt it is, why not name names? Then others can avoid this paihia like the plague.

If you try and go through the courts down there, you will be retired or dead before they even get around to passing a judgement. It probably wont be in your favour either.

I will, All in due course, the company may be a veritable septic tank and there are some complete tools working at a managerial level.

At the moment though it's a company problem, I don't know what individual pressure those guys might be under but if they prove to be personally dishonest as well they can expected to be outed here and elsewhere.

I'm giving them a relatively small window of opportunity to redeem themselves... Also, WHEN they pay I'll publish the fact and how voluntary it was!

@chrislamb

Hi,

I understand that this is slightly off-topic, but I'm curious: I thought that only NetJets operates Lufthansa Private Jet flights and that this service is only offered in Europe and North America. I just checked their Internet page and it still says so and indicates no other partner. I don't say you are wrong (I have no clue about the Indian charter market) - just curious, as I said.

I reckon we should introduce Prestige Jet in Abu Dhabi to this lot!! I always fail to see why there are so many douche bags in this industry trying to take advantage of everyone from the cleaner to the client!!

Am I stupid or is it tough to pay the people that actually allow these companies to fly planes such as pilots, engineers etc. and treat them with a tiny bit of respect? One would think they might realise that they need to find good people and keep them happy in order to make the company successful yet they carry on with this crazy attitude that pilots (and the rest) don't mind being treated like sh*t not getting paid, breaking rules etc etc!!! It beggars belief!!

Surely when you start a company, you want it to be something great and something everyone can take pride in from the bottom to the top, so why do we keep seeing this type of thing happening!?

And it isn't just happening in the Middle East and Asia, it is happening everywhere!

Along with others, I sometimes wonder why we continue with it all yet what can you do?!

Question What's the latest? Anybody Anybody Bueller?

Hi,
A general query to all and sundry connected (in present tense or in the past) with BJets/Taj Air or Deccan Charters as to how the situation is at present. Any new Aircraft, hirings, improvements etc. Also HS 125, have you got your money?

Do yourself a favor please

All the people I know from there have thankfully made good their escape by now, but their tales of woe we're ongoing in my subsequent communications with them.

Honestly I wouldn't work for BJets/Deccan or get into one of their aircraft if my life depended on it. I don't have the money yet but they would be very very foolish if they thought I'd gone away.

Question Amazing tale

@ HS125, Your experience could stop the most undaunting of aviators from such a company. But its amazing to see that Bjets, although originally from S'pore is part owned by the TATA group, thru Powerfly. BTW TATA is a name synonymous with quality in India. So I'm amazed that aircrew were managed so poorly. Or is there a mistake in my chronology here? Did Powerfly come about in your days in the company? Or was Bjets on its own in your time and Powerfly come about only subsequently???
