I have both FAA and JAR tickets
I dont think you are getting the point I am trying to make. You may have both but both will have cost you one heck of a lot of money and one heck of a lot of time and effort. Why?
Either an FAA ATP or a JAA ATP is good to fly a Jet in European or USA airspace. It happens every day! Just because the letters change on the aircraft doesnt mean you should have to run to the bank running up personal huge debts and massive amounts of time to do what you are already doing every day.
That is totally crazy and nonsense.
Unless of course you are only interested in EASA employees having never ending employement by regulating and regulating more and more until none of us will be able to comply with those regulations. We will not afford them!!
Ok European airspace is different and a differences exam is justifiable! even a flight test is justifiable as that will show up any shortfalls in your abilities.
There has to be some sense as its us that pay not the burocrat in Brussels.
Yes a Bilateral agreement has to be the answer and has to be thrashed out but lock the FAA and EASA in a room until one is agreed and signed up to and ban them from expenses luches until its all sorted because this is all madness.
