FAI rent-a-jet Air Ambulance in Nuremberg

A rather fruitless search has turned up nothing on this operator, or any Air Ambulance operator for that matter ?

According to EBAN they are recruiting for their Lear fleet, and if there is any information out there about this, or similiar, operator(s) please post, or PM me. I'm interested in knowing what they're like as an employer generally, how easy/difficult it would be as an expat working in Germany, 'the package', rosters and lenght of secondments to out stations etc, etc, all that stuff.

Thanks in anticipation.

There might be a reason for this. Never crossed your mind, did it...?

If you're low-time, fighting hard to find a job just anywhere or old, having a hard time to find any employer, then this company offers you opportunities that nobody else would: lots of flying in LJs (30-series, 55 and 60) at/to exotic destinations, exciting assignments more than adequate renumeration and fast advancements to the left seat. What's wrong with that? Most everybody has been in a situation where they've been grateful for getting a chance.

But if your're not into cutting corners, if you like airworthy airplanes which are not merely signed off with a 'release to sevice' but truly looked after, if you're into obeying at least the basic duty and resttime regs. and into sound and safe SOPs - stay far away from them. Seriously.

Enough said. There a bunch of stories to be told - but I tend to shy away from lawyers...

Hello Lemay,

Thanks for being the only public response,so far, to my enquiry ! Have you worked for this company ?

Well several things cross my mind actually, some of them simultaniously;and then I have to go and lay down ! Just because a search doesn't throw up anything, is not necesasrily significant, is it ? There may just not have been anything posted. Maybe people are happy, and want to keep it quiet. My experience of these Forums is that, if there is a particularly poor employer out there, then people usually shout about it fairly quickly, and fairly loudly, but my enquiry has prompted very little.. Infact my only other response was a PM from a very helpful chap, but was second hand information, and contrary to yours ! So where does that leave me ? Still stumped, and lacking in information !

And be careful about denigrating the old ! I may not be a spring chicken anymore,but there's still lead in the pencil.{Pencil:- useful implement for calculating the angle of the dangle (see lead)- now that IS age problem :-( }

And talking of age, I may not have toooooo many years left to go (but still a few anyway) and operate in exotic locations, on excititng assignments ? MIGHT be a limited opportunity ? Would I get to retirement and think f@*# I wish I'd had a crack at that ? It certainly sounds like a worthwhile job,on the face of it.

But you are right in that, I do want to work for a professional and safe organisation, with well maintained aeroplanes;who wouldn't ?

Judging by the amount of views on this thread, there are others who may have at least a passing interest. So if there are "stories" to be told why not share them, because it's supposed to be anonymous isn't it ? However, if you would rather not go public, then please feel free to PM me, with some facts if you would.

Many thanks,

L8

You got it right.

One has to be careful - there are lawyers out there and I have no intentions to be drawn into court. And the internet is not quite as anonymous as everybody thinks it is...

But you can always pm me. Best with a phone number - and give me few days to react, because I'm at work.

In case anyone is interested, since this thread has generated quite a few 'views', but not much in the way of public response, I have received quite a few PM's. They are unaminously of the negative variety !

Thanks to all those who took the trouble to contact me. Feel free to PM if anyone would like me to share what little I know.

Thanks L8.

Let me add a personal experience.

A few years ago i was in a similar position as you l8starter. I was in contact with the "Chief Pilot" and asked me to send in my CV. Never received the common courtesy of a response, after enquiring why this was so.

An outfit that does not respond to applications, say es all you need to know. If they treat pilots like that when they are in need of crews, then how will they respond when you are not needed??

My advice would be to stay away from them or any other company of similar attitude towards crews.

Hi,

I am also interested in finding out information about their operation and general terms and conditions. I would really appreciate a PM if anybody out there has any personal experiences to share.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

TSP
