I too get a numb bum, usually ok for 2 hours or so but any longer then I'm wriggling. Unfortunately for me I'm stuck in that seat for as long as it takes as I too fly an improportionately small aeroplane only suitable for the little people (Lear). If there is a solution other that to go fly a GV then I'd like to hear it too!! Although if theres a GV job going then ...........

There's a company with Oregon in its name that makes seat cushions out of that space foam to ease the problem. I'm sure if you google you'll find them. Haven't used their cushions but can vouch for the foam in my headset I use in my puddle jumper, makes it a far more comfortable headset.

I use a vibrating seat cover which massages a total of 6 areas, 4 areas of your back, 2 bum and 2 upper thighs.
Each is individually selectable and has 6 various modes like random, sequential, etc.
It is sensational, as I travel up to 10 hours in a car and works great in cessna twins... needs a 12v supply.
PM me if you want details...

Thanks for the replies.
Must say that I havent suffered this before (bikes, Kingairs etc), but my research has noted that its a common problem with canoeists (scuse spelling). Is it a problem with the seat, the angle of our legs(feet not on rudders really) or is it a problem with me/us.Im tall. What about circulation in the pressurised enviroment(DVT). To be honest its normally only one buttock that goes numb or goes numb first followed by the other a while later.
Thanks.
Maybe there is a 777 with a seat for me or a 380 so i can go for a jog.

The word to feed google is CONFOR if you want to find seat vendors. Can't rmember noticing Lears recently though, but I'm sure enough universal solvent ($$$...) will fix that.

4g,
Any chance this could be nervous rather than circulatory? Does the numbness extend to the back of your legs? If so, then a few sessions at the bone cruncher/bender (osteo- or chiro-, your choice) should reveal any lower back tension which can cause this. Worked for me but be warned: that great 'loosened up' feeling is addictive!

Hi There,
We took out the back of the seat in the 35s. It does not look very pretty but it gives you at least 10 cm more space for forward movement. As we fly worldwide with our planes, the bum factor is quite importat and every couple of hours i go to the back relax or do some exercises.
I use also a towel when it's hot outside and put it folded around the touchdown zone of the bum. It works for me.
