Kitbag 16th Jan 2012 19:24

Ok, are we looking at the back end of a turbo prop nacelle?

sabredog 16th Jan 2012 19:38

Thank you for your perseverance,Kitbag.
This is a frontal view of one nacelle.
The aircraft was powered by 2 Continental O-470-A flat 6 cylinder aircooled, 225 hp engines. Unconventional Pusher design with interesting aerodynamics.

This blooming thing?

The Custer Channel Wing.

I was surprised at how many pusher prop aircraft there are out there.

sabredog 16th Jan 2012 20:15

Correct,Kitbag. Well done.

Kitbag 16th Jan 2012 20:40

Shouldn't be long now :ok:

asw28-866 18th Jan 2012 06:24

I suggest a Spanish version of the ME-109 powered by a Merlin, the 'Buchon"?

SincoTC 18th Jan 2012 06:25

Morning Kitbag,

Hispano HA-1112 M1L Buchon (N109GU now at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum)??

Edit: shouldn't have stopped to check further should I, '866 :ok:

asw28-866 18th Jan 2012 06:30

Hi SincoTC,

Although I pipped you by a whole minute, I have nothing to offer so will gladly concede the honours if you can take up the mantle?

'866

SincoTC 18th Jan 2012 06:39

You're a Gentleman '866 !!

We will have to await Kitbag's confirmation though; so there is no great hurry, maybe you can cobble one together, if not I suggest you call Open House and maybe someone will pick it up, I may be able to later :)

asw28-866 18th Jan 2012 10:21

SincoTC,

Thank you, more of a lady actually, but you were not to know! Have something in mind but need to photograph it tomorrow, so in the meantime, on confirmation of correctness by kitbag, I have to declare...open house.

Indeed it is the Hispano HA-1112 M1L Buchon (N109GU now at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, taken from p2 of the museum thread.

Nice one kitbag! Every time I looked at it I thought of this, but it just didn't gel...:(

Kitbag 18th Jan 2012 21:42

TBH all other versions of the Buchon I've seen had short exhaust stubs but hey... it was easily referenced.

Noyade 18th Jan 2012 21:46

but hey... it was easily referenced.
I'm not complaining mate. :)

Mine above is also German.

(Well, the Hispano is sorta German)

Kitbag 18th Jan 2012 21:58

There's a chap building what looks like a painstaking replica of that one I think, been at it 7 years so far!

Noyade 18th Jan 2012 22:06

Did he give you a name mate?

Kitbag 19th Jan 2012 06:10

Noyade, PM for you

Noyade 19th Jan 2012 08:02

Thanks Kitbag.
