Lightning Mate 30th Nov 2011 15:24

Sure is a Frightening mate. :ok:

Yes - it is indeed the wing spar carry-through box.

TC has declared Open House.

Apologies for the original image, still have problems with resizing the images!
No apologies needed. Not easy finding a rare subject with the required pixels to maintain resolution. Found this enormous image on the net while looking for yours, think it was 4500 X 3000 pixels! Crops very nicely, not even re-sized!...but not a rare aircraft...

Those temp or thrust trimmers in the jet pipe again; thus probably pre FADEC.
Also, there is a large gap between the jet pipe and airframe – quite old, non reheat?
Nice airframe tin work, perhaps French style?

P.S. #819 had to be a Lightning intake – with all that fuel tank sealant on the outside of the fuel tank structure. Very indicative of a slight ‘g’ exceedance and shim slip in the wing carry through box … experience :O.

Correct.

Not French mate. Here's the intake...

Ilyushin IL-38 look to have similar exhausts.
