Don't do nuthin south of 1916...

windriver 30th Jan 2015 11:56

OK... should have read the rules first... sorrreee.
Nothing to hand so you have control...

Kitbag 30th Jan 2015 17:11

Looks llike some variant of Bleriot monoplane.

Ignore Bri, there are no rules about which era ac come from.

windriver 30th Jan 2015 19:29

This aircraft was constructed in 1908 and was shown at the 1909 Paris salon and featured variable camber wings and contra-rotating props.

I can find no evidence that it actually flew ... however by 1912 the constructor's association with Henri Olivier led to a successful aircraft construction company.

... this challenge is a bit more obscure than I imagined when I posted it...

Evening Windriver.

however by 1912 the constructor's association with Henri Olivier led to a successful aircraft construction company.
Fernand Lioré?

AviaFrance has only one entry for this man. The Loire 2?

Obviously a flying boat, so we can eliminate over 200 countries,,,

Noyade 31st Jan 2015 03:59

Obviously a flying boat
Suckered! Not a flying-boat mate! :)

Kitbag 31st Jan 2015 08:31

Not a flying-boat mate
Can we be more precise, was this an amphibian, or a land plane?

Noyade 31st Jan 2015 08:56

Can we be more precise
Certainly mate. Land-plane with a fixed undercarriage. Designed as a reconnaissance aircraft but no production order, so only one built. First flight was in 1932.

And to be even more precise - it's a trimotor...

windriver 31st Jan 2015 10:46

It looks like something SARO would have build, but the landplane bit rules that out.

Are they Armstrong Siddeley or perhaps Bristol Jupiter engines?

Noyade 31st Jan 2015 11:09

Yeah, not from Saro and they're Salmson engines...
