Is that the stock of a gun with a cable operated trigger?

Zaxis 20th Jan 2015 18:32

The airframe is mainly fresh air and showing enough in a crop was difficult so here's a different view

Kitbag 20th Jan 2015 21:01

Hmm, obviously it's an unnatural type of aircraft. Skid arrangement is wrong for an Allouette, so I'll go for a Bell 47 or one of its variants. (though how it could lift that load I don't know)

Zaxis 20th Jan 2015 21:54

It is definitely unusual, not French...... or Russian.
Manufacturer is not usually associated with rotorcraft.

McDonnell Model 120?

Zaxis 21st Jan 2015 19:16

Correct.
It was a pretty minimalist helicopter and another of those tip driven ones that never seemed to catch on.
Don't suppose McDonnell were too worried, they had quite a good alternative product line.

Thanks for that one. Here is something a little more traditional:

Bristol Bulldog?

Kitbag 21st Jan 2015 21:11

Too easy, YHC

Zaxis 21st Jan 2015 22:10

One of my favourite aircraft and polished up looks so good. Nice photo.
Up the speed a bit with this one...

This kind of looks like (but not identical to) a mock up of the Northrop F5 based HESA Saeqeh.

Zaxis 22nd Jan 2015 15:50

Yep, that's what it was cropped to look like !
But it's not.
Clue... the nosewheel leg looks familiar.

Kitbag 22nd Jan 2015 15:53

Clue... the nosewheel leg looks familiar.
Maybe to you

SincoTC 22nd Jan 2015 16:47

Well, that nose-wheel leg doesn't get me anywhere either, but I reckon it's pretty old and looks like it may be the North American X-10, a test drone for the later cancelled Navaho Missile ??

Zaxis 22nd Jan 2015 19:00

North American X10 it is.
Mach 2, canard drone from 60 years ago.

Nose wheel reminded me of another North American product....

SincoTC, you have control

SincoTC 22nd Jan 2015 20:06

Thanks Zaxis, a nice challenge, it was that raring to go nose high attitude that gave it away to me, rather like the Vigilante too, so it must be in the genes :)

Here's the next one, not a photo of the real thing 'coz all I could find are easily recognisable, but it was made and did fly!

Kitbag 22nd Jan 2015 20:47

Hmm, unusual configuration, can't find a clear view of the back end but guessing at something like the Adam A700?

SincoTC 22nd Jan 2015 21:10

Oh well, I had hoped that the unusual view might last a little longer, but there's no fooling you Kitbag, it is indeed the Adam A700 AdamJet, Well done :D

Adam A700 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kitbag has control:ok:

Kitbag 22nd Jan 2015 21:34

True, but its unique configuration made it relatively easy to find on the big G. With that in mind my next one is grainy, old and, I think, pretty generic :ok:
