G'day Reg.
Was this once the end of a rotor, small ramjet, or ducted exhaust?

Can you tell us the gross weight of the aircraft/chopper/UFO?

RegDep 13th Oct 2011 09:30

It is the main engine.

Gross weight 4,850 lbs

Noyade 13th Oct 2011 09:47

Gross weight 4,850 lbs
Not too big....and not powered by jet propulsion?

RegDep 13th Oct 2011 09:51

Not an UFO, try another three-letter acronym.

Noyade 13th Oct 2011 09:55

RPV?.....Pulse Jet?

RegDep 13th Oct 2011 10:03

There are other acronyms, you know. For rocket-propelled thingies.

Lightning Mate 13th Oct 2011 10:10

NOW it's getting interesting.

Noyade 13th Oct 2011 10:11

For rocket-propelled thingies.
Did it go BANG when it reached a target?

Lightning Mate 13th Oct 2011 10:16

Saturn?....

RegDep 13th Oct 2011 10:17

A bit smaller, and for different purpose Mate.

It was to go BANG, Graeme. This one didn't (this individual).

Noyade 13th Oct 2011 10:21

Maybe a fairly large (> 2 tons) Air-to-Surface rocket-powered missile?

(G'day David)

Lightning Mate 13th Oct 2011 10:23

Good evening Graeme.

With that weight I would imagine an SSM.

Could this be a V2 Reg ?

RegDep 13th Oct 2011 10:30

SAM, Graeme

Not a SS Mate.

Noyade 13th Oct 2011 10:32

Reg, you had a photo here of the Kennel missile a while back....another Russian?

RegDep 13th Oct 2011 10:32

Yes, but a very different location.

Lightning Mate 13th Oct 2011 10:40

Photographed in Germany?

RegDep 13th Oct 2011 10:41

Waaaayyyyys away. And not by me.

A four-letter country.

Who's going to put this little thing out of its misery?

Noyade 13th Oct 2011 10:45

SAM
And Russian, about two tons in weight....

Stabbing....here we go....SA-2 Guideline or maybe the SA-4 Ganef?

Lightning Mate 13th Oct 2011 10:46

SAM-2?.......

RegDep 13th Oct 2011 10:47

Graeme, It is an SA-2 carcass in Laos RideAsia.net • South Laos January 2011 - Part 3
