To use local parlance: Ναί :)
It's not on any current list so it must be disused.
Suspect ex-US. |
It was taken with a pretty standard pocket camera with a pretty decent built-in lens, so you're right in thinking we weren't all that high up. Not long before landing, to be fair. Might even have been seatbelts-on at that stage, but it was 2011 so can't exactly remember...
Hint: I think you might be missing the significance or meaning of one of my previously-given answers. You are so good at this stuff I can't make things easy :) |
Sorry, I missed your previous comment as I was typing mine. Wikipedia tells me that it is still an active airfield, with possibly an active squadron or squadrons, but it's vague and might not have been updated recently, so I can't say with any certaintly I'm afraid. Popping out now for an hour or so. If nobody's got it on my return I might stop being so obtuse :)
In its admittedly-brief write up on this airfield, Wikipedia makes no mention of it being ex-US.
I don't think I missed a meaning.
It can't be very far from Athens. |
You're right. It's not actually in Attica but very close.
You took the photo eight years ago.
I have found what might be it but it has been blurred/pixelated out in GE. |
Schimatari
dook and oxenos seem to be neck-and-neck. Who'll be first with the name of the airfield??
I think he meant Tanagra.
Indeed - I have found it named as both - it is LGTG
I was thinking of giving it to oxenos with 'Schimitari', but seeing as this is 'Which Aerodrome?' not 'What's the name of the town in the photo?' I'm going to have to give it to dook. Tanagra it is. Quite a well-known airfield: I remember seeing it named in Military Aircraft markings back in my spotting days.
There is no way I am going to steal that from oxenos.
I'll leave it up to your gentlemanly instincts, dook. You were the first to name the airfield so my competitive instincts would be to claim it (but that's just me :) )
Thank you.
I will claim it if oxynos does not wish to or has nothing to post. |
He seems to have disappeared
USA? It looks like a giant crashed flying wing |
It does doesn't it.
But it's not in the USA Bear. |
