I think he's called OH.
|
Does anyone have something ?
|
Sorry about that. Yep, Open House it is!!
|
And I'm sorry too. I like following the "play" and I'd like to have given you something but alas I have no images to offer.

A rather dry location but with evocative music! |

A rather dry location but with evocative music! Edit: must sleep, returning to the fray 0915Z if the alarm clock works. By that time, of course, all Pprune will have this figured out without the need for further clues. |
Peru …...?
|
Not Peru. Even drier. |
Argentina ?
|
Not Argentina. And they don't speak Spanish. |
The most obvious non-Spanish speaking country in South America is Brazil, but are we even in South America ?
|
Not Brazil, not South America and not even Southern Hemisphere. |
North Africa somewhere ?
|
Not North Africa but you're closer. Look at the geography! |
Afghanistan ,or Iran..?
|
Far from there, sycamore. This is on an island and it's named after a singer. |
Where are you Jenkins? I'm sure you've been there. |
The singer clue keeps taking me to Singer Island and it certainly isn't there.
Are we closer to India ? |
Not at all close to India. Different ocean. |
Air base on Masirah island Oman? SLB |
Not Middle East, SLB, and not an air force base. In fact, this country hardly has an air force to speak of. |
Somewhere in the Pacific ?
|
Santa Catalina
|
Not Pacific, and not Santa Catalina. There is a saintly connection though. |
Lanzarote GCRR?
|
I've only been there twice but have lost count of how many times I've overflown it, always as pax, I should add. |
Clutching at straws a bit but are we in the Mediterranean ?
|
What we know so far :)
Has to be on the Atlantic Ocean. San Pedro or Sao Vicente - Cape Verde |
nvubu, I was beginning to despair! Indeed it is Cesaria Evora Airport on the island of Sao Vicente in Cape Verde, home of the late eponymous and evocative singer. And it is very very dry. Your divining rod! |
That was an interesting search. Thought I'd list down what we knew and it guided me to the correct region - although I had originally written off the Cape Verde Islands as I thought they would be green.
Here is some accommodation at an airfield during a war. https://mzr4tq.bn.files.1drv.com/y4m...&cropmode=none I have more images, just thought I'd start a little differently |
"….during a war".
Korean ? |
No it isn't during the Korean war.
|
First world war then ?
|
Yes, WWI - thought you might say WW2 first.
I won't be cruel and give you more buildings (yet), but let you have view from the air - sorry it's a bit faded. https://bw2uqa.bn.files.1drv.com/y4m...&cropmode=none |
Are we back in France ?
|
Yes we are in France.
|
'ere we go again.
American expeditionary force airfield ? |
