Lightning Mate 20th Jun 2012 16:16

I already looked at post 9489 and concluded it eliminated Asia and Australia, but that is all.

Unfortunately I have to go in 20 minutes - still not internet at the new place!
Have a pleasant evening.

Ridge Runner 20th Jun 2012 16:17

oh dear... brush up on your history then, David!!!

Ridge Runner 20th Jun 2012 16:19

Thanks, you too!!!

Lightning Mate 20th Jun 2012 16:22

Ridge Runner 20th Jun 2012 16:24

Nope!!!!

You asked if I counted Scandinavia or Russia as Europe. I said "no", but I had discounted Europe. Therefore .....

:)

Come on number two .....

Lightning Mate 20th Jun 2012 16:27

Right then, may I discount Russia?

Ridge Runner 20th Jun 2012 16:28

NO! ... phew ... we got there!!!

Lightning Mate 20th Jun 2012 17:14

Evening Ken. :)

I can only find one refernce to it on the internet!
Not much of a chance then is there!

All I have established is that it's Russian.

skytrain10 20th Jun 2012 19:55

Busy afternoon/evening so not had much chance to look in to this one.

I think it's the Kubyshev I-2 Impulse?

Kubyshev I-2 Impulse
Evening Ken. I can't find that on the net, but toggling back and forth to page 474 and comparing Martin's profile to your photo - looks like a match.

It's a "confirmed" from me. :)

skytrain10 20th Jun 2012 21:10

Morning Graeme. The picture I posted is from the net (despite it's appearance) although I confess to having first identified it as a likely candidate from the description in Osprey's excellent publicaition on Russian aircraft. There is a 3-view on the same website.

How's things with you? And how's the pc?

I'll prep a challenge shortly.

All good - at the moment. Girl from Manila (Telstra Bigpond) tells me that if I don't regularly "Clear History" the browsing speed slows down? You believe that?

You all good?

Osprey's excellent publicaition
What page?

skytrain10 20th Jun 2012 21:29

Yep - have had first hand experience of that - not the girl from Manila that is - the bit about regularly clearing out the history:) Also worth removing any programmes you don't use as well as deleting old files which just clog up the pc.

All good hear - work is keeping me pretty busy. Just about to look for a new car to replace Sue's.

What page?
510:ok: Figured it would have to be something that there was no picture of as Martin know's I have the book:)

Noyade 20th Jun 2012 21:40

Crikey mate, you really are the dedicated "Silhouette Finder". :) I tend to ignore pages that have no line drawings/photos.

the bit about regularly clearing out the historyhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/smile.gif
The thing is though, I restored the PC to factory settings and the problem was still there. I mean how much history can you accumulate in a few hours?

Computers - a love/hate relationship. :suspect:

Noyade 20th Jun 2012 21:49

clearing out the history
And whenever I do that and pop back to PPRuNe, I keep seeing this...

I'll prep a challenge shortly.
Heading out Ken. Will see what you've got later today.

Cheers. :ok:

skytrain10 20th Jun 2012 22:08

I'm certainly no expert on pc's but does restoring factory settings actually delete history? Incidentally I've seen that IB Inc symbol before...cant recall what I did to make it disappear.

Anyway on to stuff we probably know more about...next one:

Closing down for the night now. Usual rules apply:ok:

Lightning Mate 21st Jun 2012 05:59

Good morning Ken.

......you really are the dedicated "Silhouette Finder"
I'll drink to that!! That must be the win of the year so far - how on earth did you find it?

:D:D

skytrain10 21st Jun 2012 07:56

how on earth did you find it?
Well, it had been established it was Russian, so I had a look at the previously mentioned book, found a brief description of the Impulse, and then looked for it on the web. Ironically I found it on a website I had previously saved but forgot to look at! In otherwords you didn't need a book to find it:)

So any thoughts on the current challenge? Need a clue?
