Lightning Mate 22nd May 2012 11:26

Is/was it a homebuilt design?

Is/was it a homebuilt design?
"Was" is more appropriate...no longer on the US register. As menitoned just the one made. The photo came from a well known web source of aircraft photos.

Lightning Mate 22nd May 2012 12:03

I assume that's Airliners.net then.

edit: However, you said it was a low res. photo so I doubt it on reflection.

Lightning Mate 22nd May 2012 12:23

I have to go to the other side of the airfield for the rest of the afternoon and will have no web access.

See you around.

skytrain10 22nd May 2012 12:30

I assume that's Airliners.net then.
Nope, try 1000 aircraft photo's:ok:

Here's the aircraft in the flesh, so to speak:

"Quick-N-Easy".

skytrain10 22nd May 2012 15:46

"Quick-N-Easy".
Bingo:ok: I guess to be 100% correct its the Boswell Quick-N-Easy. Odd that it has evaded Aerofiles. Had wondered if it had a different name, but nothing comes up on searches so looks like its one they missed. The registration looks like there's a digit missing between the 8 and the 7, but it was indeed registered N5187 and checks out on the FAA website.

Noyade 23rd May 2012 08:01

Was that a brief guest appearance?
Yep! :ok:

evansb 23rd May 2012 08:21

I'll give this one to LM, as he was the first to suggest the actual identity of this beautiful flying boat. LM has control.:ok:

Lightning Mate 23rd May 2012 08:40

Thanks eb.

I agree with you that it was indeed a beautiful machine.

This one is not so. I shall be off-line for an hour.

Ridge Runner 23rd May 2012 08:49

That flat canopy might lead to questions about whether it is a UAV but maybe not? I'll go with the latter... correct? RR

Noyade 23rd May 2012 08:57

Polish?!

And I know how much you love Open Houses....so open house if it is. :)

Ridge Runner 23rd May 2012 09:30

Blimey! :)

Lightning Mate 23rd May 2012 09:45

Blimey is the word.

Our antipodean smartass strikes again. :D

Graeme has declared OH.

Anyone want the original photograph?

I see an Oz green light, so we might get something yet.

Noyade 23rd May 2012 09:58

Anyone want the original photograph?
I think the polite answer would be yes.....:)
