Mmm, a UAV David?

Lightning Mate 21st Feb 2012 11:52

....mmm....yes.

skytrain10 21st Feb 2012 13:40

Not getting very far:( Only found 1 drone/UAV that comes close but other than it being homebuilt I have no idea what it's called! Even then the wings are not quite right, nor is the landing gear. Time for a fresh cup of coffee and a closer look:)

Lightning Mate 21st Feb 2012 13:48

Clues are available......

skytrain10 21st Feb 2012 14:06

Got my coffee, got a biscuit...need a clue!

Lightning Mate 21st Feb 2012 14:11

Please standby - IT needs my machine.

Lightning Mate 21st Feb 2012 14:36

Right, I'm back.

Empty weight 22kgs, 8kgs payload.

Go a long way East. ;)

Had your coffee? - should have had tea. ;):)

Ridge Runner 21st Feb 2012 14:58

Lightning Mate 21st Feb 2012 15:00

Hybrid power - a green machine. :ok:

Fuel cell and Lithium Ion battery. ;)

Lightning Mate 21st Feb 2012 15:13

...type...type - it comes up on the first page.

skytrain10 21st Feb 2012 15:23

Blimey....the Grey-Faced Buzzard UAV?

I say blimey as it is very similar to this one, which was the homebuilt UAV I found earlier which was exhibited in Taiwan!

Lightning Mate 21st Feb 2012 15:24

Bingo mate. :D

All yours again. :ok:

The similarity is astonishing!

Going home now - hope to see a new one up.

skytrain10 21st Feb 2012 15:41

Thanks David...as you say they are extremely similar, just the angle of the foreplanes are different, and of course the twin bogey on the homebuilt job. I do however suspect that either the Buzzard was the production version of the homebuild job, or that the homebuild job was a copy of the Buzzard....they are just too alike.

Next one...nice and easy.

skytrain10 21st Feb 2012 15:57

but was the prototype displayed years at Farnborough.... An enlarged Mystere 20?
That's the one.....designed as a feederliner (to use the term that was used in those days!)

Ridge Runner 21st Feb 2012 16:06
