Good afternoon RR, now that it has been narrowed down considerably, New Zealand perhaps? The Lincoln Sports ZK-BMV?
Edit; If it turns out to be correct, open house please. Thanks! |
Well I've looked long and hard at New Zealand, found a couple of possibles, but neither match the challenge. The tail is however very similar to one of them...shame the rest of the aircraft isn't!
Edit....Well I'm sure Karl has it....and the Lincoln Sports was one of the 2 aircraft I had found an hour ago. It seems they produced 2 completely different planes bearing the same name!!! I looked at ZK-ADV: North Tui Sports Replica, ZK-ADV, Museum of Transport and Technology. Clearly not a very good replica!!! The original ZK-ADV crashed, so looks like there were 2 built. |
2 clues up on "Cryptic". :)
|
Ah ha!!! Just in time! Yes, the Lincoln Sports ZK-BMV c/n 1. Built 1932. Karlark has it! Well done!!!
|
Thanks RR... Open House please... no new ones in the photobucket at the moment.
|
C'mon guys - take a short break and go to the "Cryptic" thread. :)
|
With some confusion in my mind regarding the last challenge I decided to do some digging. In fact the aircraft is a Radford Lincoln Sport, which actually looked like this in its original form:
http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...r/8287290a.jpg The Lincoln Sport itself is a US aircraft, which was built in the US and some still survive today. I am guessing the above machine was an adaption from the original, albeit a fairly major one. |
|
French or German?
|
Looks Italian :)
Edit; Could be Cant Z.1018 :ok: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i.../cantz1018.jpg |
Very well done Karlark! :ok:
Your control mate. :) |
Evening Noyade. Thanks!
Here is one I mustered up for what is probably a sparse crowd right now; http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i..._2008/60-3.jpg |
|
Yes it is the CANT Z.1012 :ok:
Over to you. |
|
Morning Graeme, are we looking at a twin boom, twin prop? Is that a large single wheel underneath?
|
Evening Ken.
Not twin-boom. Twin prop. Yes, big wheel. (Good news mate - Leisure Aviation 2011/2012 turned up at the local newsagent yesterday. :)) |
