Sorry to miss your post, Graeme. No, it isn't that, as you've realised! :)

Hi Martin....presume this is a WWII AOP/STOL aircraft, or are we looking at something a bit newer?
|
Hi Ken,
WW2 - no - circa 1948/49 AOP - no STOL - yes, of sorts RR :E Edit: er, and no, Ken, not from my recent magazine purchase! This one is on the web |

A'rtnoon all,
Time still very limited, so it's a coffee time dash and go, sorry!! WW2 - no - circa 1948/49 AOP - no STOL - yes, of sorts The other clues seem to fit the Rubik R-18 Kanya ?? Maybe not as I think there's a tail strut that should be visible at that angle, Open House if it is as I gotta go back to the workshop now :( |
I don't know how you do it, Trevor!!!!! Yes, the Kanya (Rubik) R-18 from Hungary.
light aircraft | 1949 | 1788 | Flight Archive Trevor has declared OPEN HOUSE RR |
One should always follow his intuition: Czech - Hungary but too lazy to check the main source:
His R-18 Kánya laison aircraft had won another design competition invited by the military. Two prototypes were built of this type with 105 and 160 Walter engines respectively. Due to its excellent low-speed flying capabilities this aircraft became an outstanding glider towing aeroplane and a series of 10 aircraft of the 105 HP variant were built for this purpose. At the ’50s these towing aircraft were refitted with 5 cylinder M-11 radial engines of 100 HP. |
I don't know how you do it, Trevor!!!!! http://www.pprune.org/aviation-histo...enge-1013.html |

Thanks Martin, G'day Graeme :ok:
He's probably got a good memory... What I did remember, was looking for Richard's challenge a year earlier and finding the R-18 then, that wasn't the challenge, but the shape was logged in memory :) http://www.pprune.org/aviation-histo...lenge-445.html |
