stevef 24th Apr 2008 16:44

Yes, it was - the trail's warming up now!

aviate1138 24th Apr 2008 16:47

Nakajima Kikka? just another wild stab....

stevef 24th Apr 2008 16:51

Sorry, Aviate1138 - this was piston-engined.

aviate1138 24th Apr 2008 16:58

Kawasaki Ki-45 perhaps? :)

stevef 24th Apr 2008 17:16

No 'perhaps' about it, aviate1138 - spot on!
:D
Steve.

aviate1138 24th Apr 2008 17:26

It has to be "Open House" as I have to dash but will be luxuriating in getting one right! At last.

norwich 24th Apr 2008 17:56

Something Russian-early Yak ?

norwich 24th Apr 2008 22:30

Ah, good evening Sycamore, Sorry but not a Yak ? Keith.

norwich 24th Apr 2008 23:35

aviate1138 25th Apr 2008 06:55

norwich 25th Apr 2008 15:52

Aviate 1138, Sorry you had to wait so long, work ! but sorry your not there yet ! First cluette its not Russian ... Keith ???

And another shot of the same thing ?????

evansb 26th Apr 2008 06:33

Hey Keith, you got a good cockpit going. Is the turn-and-bank a good clue ? How are your 'chips'n eggs?' mate ??? Whass upp b'out your question marks ????

MReyn24050 26th Apr 2008 11:19

Norwich's challenge

Has an Italian look about it perhaps?
Mel

norwich 26th Apr 2008 11:28

Good afternoon Mel, You are very astute, (or are you) where does your assumption lead you ????
Keith.

MReyn24050 26th Apr 2008 13:06

Norwich's challenge

Good Afternoon to you to Keith. Not that astute I am afraid. The instruments led me to Italian and the cockpit window layout leds me thinking it may be to this version of the Ambrosini SAI S.7
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...mel/sai7-1.jpg.
But that is just a hunch. Be back later must go and mow the lawns.
Mel

norwich 26th Apr 2008 13:30

Well Mel ! It is not that aircraft, sorry. But some of your thinking is in the correct area ? It is not that obscure ? I think the photography is not doing any favours ? What can you make of Evansb's earlier post ?? I cannot reconcile that with what I have in my head ?
Keith.

MReyn24050 26th Apr 2008 14:35

Norwich's challenge

Thanks for that I was thinking it might be from the Breda stables. I think Evansb was referring to the markings on the turn and bank guage S and D which are Italian for Left and Right i.e. Sinistra and Destra.

norwich 26th Apr 2008 15:13

As I said earlier, I think the perspective in the previous photo's is off putting ! So I have "engineered" this third shot, which will make it so easy for you all ???
Keith.

aviate1138 26th Apr 2008 15:49

Breda Ba 65?

norwich 26th Apr 2008 16:20

Were getting there, but not there yet, sorry Aviate1138. Keith. ??

aviate1138 26th Apr 2008 16:42

How about a Savoia Marchetti SM-85? Perhaps........maybe.....

norwich 26th Apr 2008 17:05

Ah, A very elegant name, but not the one you strive for ? Keith.

Kitbag 26th Apr 2008 18:57

Has something of the Fiat G50 about it I think

aviate1138 26th Apr 2008 19:04

What about the Piaggio P7?? Hmmmmm.......

norwich 26th Apr 2008 19:22

The circle is closing ! in the last two posts there is one signifcant manufacturer ! "but not necessarily in the correct order" Keith.

aviate1138 26th Apr 2008 19:55

Damn! I was going to suggest the Reggiane Re 2000 Falco but now I am going for

the FIAT BR.20 Cicogna ? Can't find a Piaggio anything suitable.....

Piaggio P-119?

norwich 26th Apr 2008 20:11

Aviate 1138, Well, what can I say, ummm no, but ever smaller circle, in your last post there were "2" significant words, but in the wrong places. Looking back at previous posts several have had one too many engines and not enough wings ! I'm making it too easy for you to get your second consecutive win am I not ? ..... ha ha .... love it. Keith

aviate1138 27th Apr 2008 05:03

Deep breath....

Fiat CR 32 ?

My last remaining brain cell is in need of deep majooberizing! :)

Correzione! CR 42

norwich 27th Apr 2008 08:43

YES YES YES !!! Aviate 1138 .... your last minute change of mind has won it ! Well deduced ! for that I give you two :D :D Looking forward to your challenge ! Keith.
