Surprised Graeme hasn`t got it....

aviate1138 20th Aug 2012 22:12

Well I wonder if it's a Wirraway?

Noyade 20th Aug 2012 22:18

Damn! Really?

Looked at the Wirraway...but mine's different. I wonder if the layout changed during the war?...

They are nearly the same aircraft aren't they?

Here was my source for the "Boomer"

sycamore 21st Aug 2012 11:18

It is incorrect as it`s a Boomerang cockpit ,Graeme. You can see the different shaped windscreen, and also the cowl flaps are open, which the Wirraway didnt have. The Wirraway had 2 machine guns firing over the cowling, thru` the prop, the Boomers were all in the wings....

Noyade 21st Aug 2012 11:42

Fair enough gents. I and my caption stand (actually I'm sitting) corrected. A Boomerang it is.

Cheers. :ok:

Carry on Aviate.

aviate1138 21st Aug 2012 16:35

Thanks Noyade

OK Sabredog, thanks, it will have to be Open House..........

Noyade 21st Aug 2012 21:02

Well, no wirraways, wombats or wallabies connected with this one....
