Down to Gainsey I think, without his suggestion I wouldn't have been any the wiser even if I could have seen the pic - which I can now! Complete guess on my part!

Anyway, I bet he's got some intriguing shots up his sleeve!

Thanks Treaders, that row of switches was nagging me, probably for all the test gear.

I'll find something later if anyone would like to step in meantime?

Stepping in meantime.............

Just a guess - E2B Hawkeye?
Or was I reading the photo properties wrong?

forget 13th Oct 2005 08:41

:\ How'd that happen? You win - for intitiative.

diginagain 13th Oct 2005 09:08

Sorry. I feel a bit of a fraud now.:O
I wish I had a snap to offer, but I'm a helicopter ride & long drive away from my home PC, so back to you guys.

forget 13th Oct 2005 09:23

Don't feel too bad. You spotted my first cock-up of the day.

SA Twin Pioneer?

forget 13th Oct 2005 10:02

Not a Twin Pin.

Handley Page Herald?

forget 13th Oct 2005 15:13

Full marks! Herald it is. Incidentally, the instrument panel is from Handley Page Herald 100 G-APWA, the Museum of Berkshire Aviation- and it looks to be a first class job.

Tupolev Tu-142?

Gainesy 13th Oct 2005 16:41

No..................................................

Tarnished 13th Oct 2005 18:22

An 124?

Curtained doorway under centre console makes me suspect a double decker of some sort.

Tarnished 13th Oct 2005 19:12

So is gainsey being picky by saying No........................ to Tu 142?

How about a Tu 95?

Tiger_mate 13th Oct 2005 21:01

Looks like a TU142M to me??????????
http://www.spmodelismo.com.br/howto/...alk-007-21.jpg
.........and if it isnt, it is something with an identical cockpit!

No central thottle quadrant is an interesting concept of a 4 engined aircraft. You would need hands like a Russian, but then again................

TU-95 (Quietly)

Tiger_mate 14th Oct 2005 06:26

TU-95s do have a (communal) throttle quadrant in the centre.

Gainesy 14th Oct 2005 08:41

Tarnished takes the trophy, Tu-95.

(Not being pedantic but I have no idea what a Tu-142 cockpit looks like).:)
