Gateway to the Great Karoo in the Northern Cape, the airfield is the closest aerial access to the MeerKAT/SKA radio telescope site as well as serving the charming Karoo town of Carnarvon and adjoining communities. At 4,150ft AMSL this is a place where you need your performance charts handy if you are planning to fly on a baking hot Karoo day
