The pilot bears a strong resemblance to Charles Lindbergh and the aircraft's strut/gear arrangement resembles a custom-built Ryan. Perhaps I should put on my reading glasses.

Must admit that I thought pretty much the same Ed, particularly the Lindbergh bit! Couldn't find a Ryan that fitted the bill though... and, yes, I'm using an old prescription!

The 1931 three seat Sky-Lark was designed by Arnold H Galvin, a Lincoln School of Flying A&E instructor, and built as a class project.

Aircraft maybe based a little on the Travel Air 10b ?

My other half is very cross with you Dook - she spent a couple of hours this morning trying to ID this cute little aeroplane,and now she has to go shopping in the rain (she shoulda gone earlier when it was dry
)
Anyway just to add to my earlier post - there is a nice pic of the designer here ....
