Thanks India - an elegant looking aeroplane - perhaps better-looking than my offering ?

At the risk of missing the obvious, I'm going to say DH.83 Fox Moth.

Obviously a DH type, but definitely downwind at Tauranga. The Mount is a giveaway. 😀

Not a Fox Moth. More likely to be encountered at a Sheep Station..........

One thing for sure; it's not a Drover.

I'm playing for sheep stations and throwing in ZK-BEN, a Tiger Moth.

ZK-PHZ Jackaroo might fit the "not quite" a Tiger and "sheep station" clues?

OH if correct.

Re India Four Two's SAREX of C-FANE Ambrosini S.1001 Griffin; Is the time of departure at Olds/Didsbury of 0800 UTC correct? Departing Drumheller at 0900 UTC for a touch and go at Beiseker ?

0800 UTC is 02:00 a.m. MDT, 0900 UTC is 03:00 a.m. MDT.

A scenic tour of the Rocky Mountains on a moonless dark night/early morning? Unlikely.

I think for UTC, read MDT, perhaps?

If it was UTC, no wonder it crashed!

You'd have to travel miles to see one of those...

EDIT: is that Headley Road to the rear?

Hi Pypard - clearly you didn't need too many Miles to recognise it.
Would you like to take control?

Yes give me a mo: very gracious of you. I did wonder if the 'travel' (peregrination; the M.8 was the Peregrine) would be a bit too cryptic.
