The aircraft was powered by a single engine.

You have it David the Bristol Siddeley Nimbus, later known as the Rolls-Royce Nimbus, a British turboshaft engine developed under license by Blackburn Aircraft Ltd. from the Turbomeca Turmo in the late 1950s. It was used on the Westland Scout and Westland Wasp helicopters.

In the early days, the engine suffered several Power Turbine failures. Every after flight we had to carry out an Novalac eddy-current examination of the turbine disc shown in my original photograph. The only access was via the trouserleg jet pipe. It was replaced by the introduction of Mod 499, IIC. Happy days.

You regain control

This has been up for far too long.

It's a well-known European helicopter and I shall reveal it and declare OH
by 1600 prune time.

Curtss XF14C-2. Cancelled I believe due to poor performance and delays with the availability of the XR-3350-16 engine.
