The airframe is mainly fresh air and showing enough in a crop was difficult so here's a different view

Hmm, obviously it's an unnatural type of aircraft. Skid arrangement is wrong for an Allouette, so I'll go for a Bell 47 or one of its variants. (though how it could lift that load I don't know)

It is definitely unusual, not French...... or Russian.
Manufacturer is not usually associated with rotorcraft.

It was a pretty minimalist helicopter and another of those tip driven ones that never seemed to catch on.
Don't suppose McDonnell were too worried, they had quite a good alternative product line.

Well, that nose-wheel leg doesn't get me anywhere either, but I reckon it's pretty old and looks like it may be the North American X-10, a test drone for the later cancelled Navaho Missile ??

Thanks Zaxis, a nice challenge, it was that raring to go nose high attitude that gave it away to me, rather like the Vigilante too, so it must be in the genes
