Yes mate, it is the Dornier Do-24.
I understand that the two RAF personnel were the crew from a 252 Sqn RAF Bristol Beaufighter T4935 which ditched in the Med on the 11th March 1943 and were picked up by the Dornier of 7 Seenotstaffel on the following day.

Engine possibly a BMW VIU? Aircraft perhaps a Dornier 23.

If I'm right its that rarest of rare beasts, a water cooled radial.
